More Votive Placecard Questions...

1) Has anyone ever tried to use clear address lables instead of vellum?

2) Will glue sticks work, or is dbl sided tape best?

TIA!!

A friend of the family used the self stick labels that peel off the sheet and they came out great.

Oh that is good to know, I actually bought clear adhesive zots - small size (Michaels). I was wondering if that would work. It seemed easier than the double sided tape...

Re: More Votive Placecard Questions...

i made a few of them just to see how'd they come out, but i used the velium & just scotch
tape to seal them , you couldnt see the tape, i also figured out you need clear tea lites, cant use the ones that have the silver metal that holds the candle as its difficult to see the names once its lit,, I actually made a few & used one to ask one of my bridesmaid to be in the wedding party. I just set up the template & said ' will you be my brides maid.

So for the tape stuff I dont know but the velium was ez to do,,

Glue is not recommended. I remember that a bride last year used glue and the vellum came apart from the heat. Double sided tapes works really well.

Is there a trick to cutting the vellum paper correctly or is it all trial/error?

Re: More Votive Placecard Questions...

when you buy the velium it comes preforated/pre cut, so after you print on it u just need to kinda bend the paper & it will come right apart .

I made a few & used them to ask my bridal party to be in my wedding, Instead of writing Mr & mrs so & so ,I put please be my bridesmaid ..

I didnt use glue though I just used a small piece of scotch tape, you cant even notice the tape.,,

If you got Michaels, they have nice precut vellum which comes in sheets, and it has two very small, but elegant looking hearts on it...Its nice, because it dresses it upa little--But I was also told to use double tape... Tape one side on, and then wrap the other side over the tape..But, I am new at this too..I am going to try to do one this week, so i will let you know how it turns out!

I just typed the names. It was time consuming but I knew it would look nice.
