Re: morning wedding
What time does the reception start? I would still drink at a daytime wedding.

Re: morning wedding
You could do something simple..Have a signature drink or punch
Mimosas (champange & oj)
or just wine & beer.. for an afternoon wedding I think that's lite enough

Re: morning wedding
I would, and have, gotten pretty blitzed at afternoon weddings. I like the idea of having a signature drink. Maybe you could have Bloody Marys and mimosas be passed during the CH so people can warm up to drinkng and then a full open bar for the reception.

Re: morning wedding
You bring up a good point. I've been to a few early afternoon weddings and I defintely did not drink as much as I normally would in the evening. It's something psychological I think....

Re: morning wedding
I think that people will drink at a wedding no matter what time of day it is, but the simplification idea is great!!

Re: morning wedding
Yeah, its early, but its festive, its a happy event, so why not? We're having an afternoon wedding and I've been to a bunch and most people party like its after 5. They may not get AS smashed as if it were late (which may be a good thing) but its not such a big deal to drink in the afternoon.
I love the bloody mary or mimosa idea for the cocktail hour though.

My wedding is 1-6 and I made drinking mandatory!!!

Re: morning wedding
I would say its no problem with alcohol at 12. I went to daytime wedding and people including myself had alcoholic beverages, its the same time frame as yours.

Re: morning wedding
I would probably drink less during the day, but I'd definately drink. If you think about it...people typically order/offer either screwdrivers, bloody marys or mimosas at a Sunday Brunch....and brunch usually starts at 10:30 or 11....I think it may never be too early for a cocktail for some people!Welcome New Vendors
