most recent dr. appt.
I had an appt on Tuesday for my 35 week check. Well...not so great I am afraid.
As you all know I have severe swelling problems and there was some protein found in that lovely urine jug I had to do. But since my blood pressure was low, they didn't concern. This time - you guessed it- blood pressure up high. I have never had high blood pressure in my life. It was all such a blur that all I remember is the first number was up to 130 - it's normally 90 for me.
I am going in on Monday for a non-stress test 'fetal monitoring' whatever that is - I guess it's that belt that monitors activity and then I am getting a bio-physical which I think means I see the baby (which is exciting) and then an internal exam to see if I am dilating at all. They didnt' say much, and I am sure I will learn a lot more on Monday. But they did say that if the blood pressure is still up, we will do this fetal monitoring regularly. From my own research, I think that the worst case scenario here is they'll consider inducing at around week 37 if this is the case. I really dont' want to do that - we learned about pitocin and all that in class last week and it doesnt' look like a party, but I guess I just have to be patient and see what's what.
I will keep you updated. In the meantime if any of you ladies know more about the details I will be experiencing on Monday it would be really helpful to me. I like to know the game plan before heading in!
The good news...I lost 4 pounds!
Well okay...I lost 4 pounds ONE day this week - then it was back but so WHAT I still did lose them at some point ! I was romping around in the nude and my husband looked over from the bed and said - whoa sweetie - I know you feel thin but.......
I must have looked like a whale out of water....
