I am thinking of taking DH on a dinner/ dancing cruise around the city for his b-day next month. Good idea or bad? We are going to a 1:05 Yankee game that day, thought the dinner cruise or just dinner might be a nice cap to the nite.

Yes, he does...I was thinking Sparks (I took him to Luger's a few times) but I heard it's really expensive.

never been to sparks but luger's is always a good choice
also consider: bobby van's uncle jacks palm frankie and johnny's virgil's BBQ -- great BBQ place

VIRGIL's is the BEST! I used to work right around the corner from them, and my co-workers and I would always go there for lunch and/or dinner. SUCH good food , yuuuuuuum!

I cant wait to go there tomorrow. The wings are sooooooooo good, not to spicy but I love the smokeness.

my company had a dinner cruise for our christmas party and my dh really enjoyed it. i totally thought he would hate it but he is hoping they have it on the boat again next year

I took my FH on the dinner crusie around NY --he loved it.
But - i voted dinner only because after a ball game, will you really be up for that? I'd save it for another time and just do dinner in the city.

I would do some research if you decide on the dinner cruise. I know Spirit Cruises do alot of them in the city (Spirit of NY). They may be very good. However DH and I did a Spirit of Philadelphia (owned by same co.) and we found it to be overpriced for what they did - $68 covered a buffet (which was average at best, the food was good but for $68 pp could have been better IMO). That price only included water or iced tea. Soda was extra. I thought that was very cheap of them. Alcoholic drinks were expensive but that's always the case on these things. But the entertainment we thought was very tacky.
That just might be that city's cruise - maybe they do it different in NY - I would find out before booking. And as for the entertainment -I think Spirit has 3 types of cruises in NY so at least you have a choice.

Well, I really want to thank everyone for their help. I am going to just do the dinner thing. I think you are right about doing the whole cruise thing after the game. Besides, it might be tight getting to the ship on time, if the game goes into late innings we would be screwed. Thank you all though, and now I have to go to Dallas BBQ tomorrow nite b-4 the Prince concert!!!
