My father is still recovering from being sick and may not be able to attend my wedding in 2 weeks. My mom will more than likely be walking me down the aisle and I expected that we would do a mother-daughter dance at the reception.
However, my mom told me last night that she didn't want to do a dance and that it may be too emotional for her. I know my fiance is going to have a dance with his mom and I feel bad that I won't dance. Its bad enough that I am heartbroken about my dad but I really wanted to do a dance. What do you think?

I think you need to just tell her how much it would mean to you to dance with her. And if she gets emotional that is okay.
I will be doing a dance with my mom as well! She hears the song now and cries so I can only image her during the dance. lol

This! I did one with my mom. At first she didn't want to do it but people at her office convinced her and she chose the song for it. That was the only time I cried during the whole day!! (Even in my daddy-daughter dance, I barely cried!!)

My cousin's wife danced with her mom at their wedding and it was one of the most beautiful moments I've ever seen at a wedding.

I'm dancing with my mom. i don't have my father in my life so she will be walking me down the aisle.
We won't be dancing to a slow song. Our song will be I will survive by Gloria Gaynor.

Re: Mother - Daughter Dance
explain to her how much it would mean to you to have her dance with you. tell her its a great honor.
if not, do you have a grandpa / brother / father in law you could dance with?
