We looked there, as well as Pizazz of all places, and Metamorphoses boutique in St. James, which is VERY pricey, but beautiful stuff when you get to the higher end/custom pieces...way out of our budget, but sure was fun to look!

both my mother and mother-in-law got their dresses in the Woodbury commons at Mieka and Boutique Elle. They have 70% off sales so you can definitley get something in a decent price range their if you can find something on sale.
My mom got hers at Helen's in Commack - it's in an industrial area, so it's tricky to find, but they have lots of dresses and decent prices!
