My mom went looking for dresses yesterday for herself and became very frustrated with the process. She tried Queen of Hearts and Totally You. We are going to try Bridal Reflections and Davids Friday afternoon.
ANY other suggestions??? This is totally not my mom's thing so friendly and understanding sales people would be a great plus.

Honestly, for plus sizes, I would pass on Bridal Reflections, they have beautiful gowns but the samples are not for plus sizes. My mom got her dress at Totally You and they had a huge range of sizes, but I don't recommend them for alterations.
I think my mom also looked at Pzaz in Centereach.

My moms dress is actually from Davids Bridal... but she got the dresses for my sister and brothers wedding from Oh So Dressy...

My daughter's wedding. My mom went there for other gowns (not for my wedding) and they were plesant and had plus size samples. It is somewhere on the north shore in Nassau (roslyn maybe) I would just google it. There is also another place accross from Syosset LIJ hospital (right accross the street- but cannot think of the name). They have plus size samples as well but more of an attitude, lol.

I would try the Bridal Suite in Huntington the majority of their samples were 16s

My mom AND MIL actually got their dresses at BR! Both of them are plus-sized. Which one did you go to? My mom got hers in Massapequa.
We looked at: BR, Totally You (but we hated the experience and didn't care for the salespeople), Queen of Hearts ($$$$$$), David's Bridal, Sugarplum and Estelle's. My mom tried on more dresses than I did.

We went to the one in Carle Place, maybe thats why, I hear the one in Massapequa has a better selection for MOB
