Who picks first? I wanted my MOH to wear green and my mother went and got a turquoise dress. Then my MOH picked a beautiful dress that is green and blue but, my mom thinks they are to similar. My mom claims that the etiquette is that the mother picks first. Just wondering what other brides did? Thank you

Etiquette says MOB picks before MOG, but I think most girls pick their BM dresses, or at least the color, before mom gets her dress. And a lot of girls ask their mom's to wear a color that will 'go' but not match the BM's so pictures will look good.

the MOB should pick befor the MOG... the MOH should not really be involved in that

I think the MOH and bridemaids get their dresses first, then MOB then MOG.
Here is another question in the same topic...I am having my girls in black...what color should MOB and MOG wear??? MOB wants to also wear black which i am totally fine with but MOG will prob want to be in a color (blue, purple, red, green...no clue what she will come up with). Should I just let her get whatever she wants or tell her in advance that I want her in black?

I never knew there was even a etiquette to this...
I'm most likely picking out the BM dresses first (The MOHs are not going to be in a different color anything). And knowing FMIL, she will probably go shopping for her dress like 2 weeks before the wedding and my mom will probably look for hers way earlier than that.

i told my mother that she can wear whatever color she wants- she doesn't have to match the bridal party. but she definitely gets to pick before MOG!
