Mothers often try to dictate how a wedding should be for a number of reasons:
1) They want to copy their own weddings
2) They want to you to have the wedding they never had
3) Because they are certifiably nutso, wackados, or looney tunes

Think about it this way, how old are you?
I'm 24 so I'll use me as an example. I've only known what a wedding was since I was about 8, so I've only been planning mine for the past 16 years.
But I know my mom prob starting thinking about her daughter's wedding while she was still planning her own, or maybe when she became pregnant with me. So pretty much, we're talking about 25-30+ years here.
Really it's all about the math. I know it sounds crazy but some mom's have been thinking about our special day longer and more-so then even we have!! Sometimes it's annoying but figure it this way, we can get back at our kids!!

sorry but my mom definitely takes the cake on this. I'll come home from work and she can't wait until I get on the computer or start looking at pictures of stuff. She asks me for 'homework' as far as what calls she can make or what research she can do online. While I appreciate the help, I don't need a wedding planner from the minute I get home till the time i go to bed. Plus she'll call me at work to discuss ideas when I'm trying to get my job done!
