Hi everybody, I'm new to the board. I'm getting married may 10 09 which is mother's day, what do you guys think? A lot of people are warning me about flowrs besides that, what else can I expect? Thanks a lot

I think it will be ok- if persons know about your wedding in advance they will plan for mom's day accordingly

I think the people closest to you will make sure they are there but send out save the dates

I'm going to be honest... I don't think some people will be happy about that. We're going to a May wedding this year and FSIL thought it was on Mother's day and she flipped out saying she wasn't going if it was. You have to think about people who aren't going to be there with their families, personally I would be pretty annoyed.

your wedding will be great. I don't think flowers will be anymore expensive then a holiday weekend or any normal day...you will be fine.

Congrats and welcome! I don't even think flowers will be a problem. . . if you book with a florist then they should be able to get you everything you want!
The only thing that I remember being a problem around mother's day for me was when I was in college I always had papers and finals right around that time and I had to miss a lot of parties b/c of it.
