My mom is freaking out she doesn't like the dress she planned to wear, I think its just her nerves she's driving me nuts.
Where can she buy something off the rack the Wedding is SUNDAY!!!!!
I heard much of Estelles on here, I'm sending her there. where else??
She said she can't find anything 'nice' in her size in the big city department stores. She's a 16W.

She can look at Macys or she might even get lucky going to Dress Barn. Good luck!

Tell her to try David's...my mom found her dress there 50% off.
Maybe a few of the bridal store my have something she can buy off rack. It's going to be tough though so close to the wedding.
Maybe if she goes to Macy's, Lord and Taylor or Bloomie's...but in the city she might find something. I always find the selection is awesome in the city.

She goes like twice a month to those stores, she said the selection is dire for plus sizes.

Re: Mother's Dresses URGENT! HELP!
during my bestfriends wedding this summer, her mother was being SUCH a pain when it came to her dress. She just wouldn't go get one, basically because she's lazy and had attitude. I was really nervous she'd show up in her bathrobe and slippers. But then last minute, she showed up in something that was actually very nice. Something she had bought the day before the wedding. i believe she went to Pzaz. I thought they only had prom dresses and such, but I guess not. So you could always try there! I'd check their website first though (before wasting time and driving from store to store).

Pzaz has some MOB dresses. I would also try Disticnctive Dresses in seldenThey are both in Selden on Middle Country road. Pzaz is next to Aspen Fitness and by Goodwill. ANd Distinctive dress is in the HOme Depot parkinglot.

Bloomingdales, Macys, Nordstroms, JC Penny, Lord and Taylor. All these places have dress departments.

Loehmanns has a nice selection, not sure about plus sizes. There is one in New Hyde Park and a big one on 7th and like 16th or so in the city.

Go to David's Bridal. They have reasonable prices and nice selections. The bridal places were asking 600-700$ for my mom's dress. Macy's and all those department stores didn't really have nice selections either

My mom is calling me from the store and saying there is so much there, she's overwhelmed and at the same time not comfortable in all the weird dresses.

My mom got hers at the Westbury store. The service for me was fine (I got my dress there, my mom got hers, and the bridesmaid dress is from there) but I've heard others complain about it. My mom's dress wasn't off the rack (they didn't have her size), but I am sure there are plenty that are.
