Mother/Son Dance?

Ok, FMIL wants to dance to HERO byt MARIAH CAREY with FH...at first I was like great. But then I just sat down and read the lyrics and I don't think I like it. Here are the lyrics and let me know what you think. I know I shouldn't have a say in this, but I don't think its appropriate. Maybe its me.....

My FH wants to dance with his mom to 'through the years'...now that sounds more like a husband wife song!

actually whenever ive been to a wedding and heard this song used it was for dances like that...the times i hear it most is when the bride dances with her brother

I totally agree with the original poster...the song is actually about you being your own hero...Its about finding inner strength not about finding strength in someone else...for that reason, i totally agree...unless their is some sort of special significance I would vote no to it...if they are looking for a song like that suggests someone else being your hero I immediately think of the wind beneath my wings...just a suggestion.
