MOTHER/SON DANCE....HELP!!! What are you ladies using?
FH's mother wasn't the most helpful nuturing mother in the world.. we can't seem to find a good song that doesn't say how much she did for him and stuff.......has to kind of be neutral.
Im using 'i hope you dance' for my song with my dad.

Hey Hun!
I didn't think FH would even let his mom choose the song b/c she was sort of a pain to him (and still is). She's not the lovey mushy type, but she surprised me by choosing 'A Song for my Son.' She says she cried and everything when she heard it - shocking LOL! It really is a pretty song though - I just hope FH doesn't ruin it by being his silly self and like messing up her hair and all while they are dancing That would be so typical of him!

my DH danced to 'Do I Make You Proud' by Taylor Hicks. It was so sweet. and i think it would be a good fit for what you are looking for

that is what my FH wanted to use too but my cousin used it and we are using the same RH as them so he now wants something different.

DH used I'll Always Love My Mama by the Intruders....he also wasn't extremely close w/ his mom and was worried about how comfortable he'd be dancing w/ her. Since this was upbeat it helped the time pass faster and got the crowd going. All of our songs were upbeat...we're not very 'sentimental' people

My DH and his mom weren't close at all either, and he had a hard time picking something. He finally chose 'What a Wonderful World' by Louie Armstrong. It was neutral enough to not be a problem, but it sounded lovely.

Honestly, the DJ picked a song for DH and his mom. They're really not close at all - well he's not close to her....they danced to These Are The Times To Remember by Billy Joel. I don't think he really cared what the song was at all.
