A little. I hated my last name as a kid, but as an adult, I like it. My new last name will be hard to get used to, but I'm sort of looking forward to changing it.

I miss mine already, and I still have time. Its going to be hard to adjust. I love my name,

Eh sometimes. I don't like writing my new last name. It's the stupid apostrophe. O'Connor. I'll get used to it.

i havent changed it yet for this reason. i am really having a hard time. I changed it on facebook and thats weird enough, but I really dont like my new name and am having a hard time that I will be changing it.

DH says I can keep mine but I do want to take his especially for when we have kids so we all have the same last name, but I am just not really in a rush to do it.

I CANNOT WAIT TO CHANGE MY NAME!!

Sorry that you miss yours though

Not changing it. His last name is 15 letters long and is mispronounced 99.999997% of the time, plus I LOVE my last name.

If we have a family, maybe I'll hyphenate it to the shortened version. We'll see. That's at least 5 years from now, maybe more.

i officially changed mine at work too and its just strange to me to see it written out on my computer and to actually sign it. i guess i'll get used to it, but i wasn't attached to my maiden name.

Re: Mourning your name change...

I am already mouring my new name at work and I'm not even married yet. I am petrified I am going to introduce myself in a conf call and people will wonder who i am, or will not respond to my emails b/c they do not recognize the name.

I never thought I'd feel this way, btw, I always thought people were crazy who thought it was a big deal to change your name, but it is a big deal!

Not mourning at all, its alot easier of a name and I don't have to worry about people not being able to pronounce it. The only thing that is a little annoying is its very ordinary, but oh well

I totally do not want to give up my last name it's only 4 letters and i love it. my FH's last name is 8 (my whole first and last name right now are 8). I'm also annoyed because people won't know anymore off the bat that i'm italian (FH is a polish/russian jew) ugh he won't budge i have to change

I'll have to deal with an apostrophe too. Not looking forward to that! But I am looking forward to changing my name otherwise.

Re: Mourning your name change...

I really don't want to change my last name. It's a constant battle between me and FH because he gets insulted. I love my last name. I might end up just hyphenating it at work so people still know who I am!

I seriously stress about the name change. My first name and new last name will rhyme...kind of like Josie Grossie, and Julia Gulia. Ugh!
