I officially changed my name at work... i am mouring the loss of my maiden name.. anyone else feel the same???????????

yes i am!! i was all for it til i had to start changing things. i still hesitate when people ask my last name.

nope..I love my new last name. I changed everything the day I got back from my HM. Still in the process of changing it at work, but that's about it. Everything else was changed within a week. As far as work, I sent out a mass email before hand letting them know my name was changing.

Haven't changed it yet but can't wait!! While it's true I am swapping out one long Italian name for another, neither of which anyone pronounces correctly, I am finally getting rid of my Ex's name!! Although I have to admit, even after 15 years I still really miss my nice simple, easy to pronounce, maiden name!

nope not at all, i was so excited, it was definitely a hassle but i have a shorter name now. but i did freak out when filling out some paperwork last week and it asked for my maiden name!

yeah. i just did SSN and DMV this week. but i still havent done it at work or on any cards/bank yet

i think getting used to signing my new name will be the hardest thing

it took me 28 years to get my signature right...and now i need to start over!

but i cant complain too much, b/c he has a great last name

Thats exactly what I did (well no one else knows we are already married yet) but - I will hyphen on fb after the wedding. Otherwise everything else is staying in my maiden name. Its too much of an a$s ache to change it for my teaching license and everything else. FH thinks I am changing it completely after the wedding - I just keep letting him think that

Ahhhh I am soo dreading this one!!! I am moving my maiden to my middle name and am taking his last name. I really don't want to, and he doesn't care if I do or not, but part of me feels like I need to change it to show him my commitment. Plus, he has been GREAT to me over these past 9 years, so I'm gonna take one for the team.
