I need a movie that shows marriage in a good light...it is for a religion class.

What about the one with Mandy Moore where she has a terminal disease but her high school boyfriend marries her right before she dies? I forget the name...

How about just the scene following the credits of Napolean Dynamite?

Re: Movie help needed about marriage..
What about A Man For All Seasons? It is based on the true story of Sir Thomas Moore, who is imprisoned because he cannot condone the divorce and re-marriage of King Henry, so he remains silent on the issue. It also shows how his wife and family stand by him in a very difficult time. It is an old movie (1966), but a classic.

What about 'Life is Beautiful?'. This movie shows two people who love one another so much that the wife willingly boards the train to enter the concentration camps to be near her husband...I cried so much watching this movie.

How about Love Story? Its an old movie (maybe around early 1970's)...another tear jerker, terminal illness one, but very sweet.

When a Man Loves a Woman? Andy Garcia & Meg Ryan
Absolutely NOT!
First off, no man would stand by an alcoholic wife. Second of all, should he? Is that a message to send to kids?

First, many people stand by alcoholic spouses to help them through it. Second, why wouldn't you want kids to know that sometimes marriages have rocky times and commitment is not always so easy?

Why wouldn't a spouse stand by an alcoholic spouse????????? Maybe yours wouldn't or you wouldn't for your spouse but many people do ... so don't say 'No man would ...' Alcoholism is a D-I-S-E-A-S-E - which was addressed and treated in the movie - all while her SPOUSE stood by her side.
So where's the bad message in this movie, please tell ...

Re: Movie help needed about marriage..
My mistake---I certainly should not have said: 'NO Man' ... That was foolish.
I personally think that the movie we speak of is just not the best one to send a message to kids about marriage.
