For those who dont live with FH or those who are moving into a new place, when are you moving??
We have decided to move into the apt above my parents house to save money for a year. The tenet that lives there now might not move until end of July/August.
I'm worried about the stress of moving a week or so before the wedding! I hateeee moving. I'm wondering if we should wait and move after.
Those who dont live together are you moving in the week or so before, or after??

Re: moving
FH has his own apartment, as do I. We'll be moving in to his place (or rather, I'll be moving in to his place) once we're married. But we've been bringing over some of my stuff in the past couple of weeks so the transition isn't too terrible.
I gave my notice to my landlady. My last day is 6/30; it gives us time to move more things once the wedding is over.

Re: moving
We are moving into a house and every weekend I go and bring a little bit more over. I took off the 3 days before the wedding and am going to move whatever I need. My mom is going to pack up the stuff that is left for me and I'll bring it when I get home from our HM.

Re: moving
That's stressful! I actually will be moving after the wedding when we are back from the honeymoon. I want to get ready in my apartment that I bought when I met FH and he will be getting ready at his house. I am going to move a few of the major accessories and my winter things this summer over a few weekends though.

Re: moving
Well, we LIVE TOGETHER NOW, so we dont have to do the move before hand. I think it might be stressful..so maybe we will bring some stuff and do the rest after the wedding, so I dont get overwhelmed! haha

Re: moving
i would say to 100% move in a wee or two after. moving can be extremely stressful and you cant imagine how things look for the first month or so. personally when things are even a little messy in the house, im more stressed, and with a billion boxes and not knowing where anything is, you shouldnt have to deal with that the week or two before the wedding. also, ive always found that as soon as we move in any place, there are always costs that come up unexpectedly. things like connection fees for cable, internet, etc. say something breaks while moving, God Forbid. also, you end up ordering in a lot at first because your food is all over the place and all your pans are packed away anyway. its just experience that can teach you this stuff

Thanks. Trust me, I know!!!!! I HATE moving. I have done it a lot. I think if my mom's tenet doesnt move out at least a month before the wedding, we will wait until after. Our lease isnt up here until Oct 1 anyway. Thanks. ughhhh moving sucksssss

Re: moving
We just moved into a house a month ago and with the shower, bach parties, work etc there are still tons of boxes around and its a mad house! Try and do yourself a favor and only bring what you need if your going to be staying there, if not get married go on your honeymoon and do it all when you get back! Dont stress about getting in the week before, trust me! GOOD LUCK!

Re: moving
I just moved in about 2 weekends ago to our new place which made it about a month before the wedding....
IT WAS STRESSFUL!!!!
But I'm so glad I did it and now everything will be organized for the wedding.
I could not imagine moving in a week before!! Way too much stress to deal with. I highly advise AGAINST it. it will be way too much to handle at that time with all the last minute stuff you are going to have to do before the wedding.
If you absolutely cant move in a couple weeks before, wait till after!!

Re: moving
Were technically moving in June 1st... but were getting the keys this weekend and will paint and start bringing stuff over...
So a month and a half before... i want everything set up nice because we might be having a Graduation/Confirmation party for FBIL... some time at the end of June...

Re: moving
currently looking for an apartment with either an August 1st or 15th move in date which is close to our wedding date Aug 28th but i think it def will be doable, plus we dont have much of a choice with FH taking the bar exam at the end of July and we both go back to work the day after we get back from our honeymoon and have busy work schedules which require us to work late nights and some weekends.

Re: moving
Our tent. lease begins July 1st but we'll be able to move our stuff in next month. I won't offically be moving in though until after the wedding. So all my clothes and stuff will slowly make it's way over in August.

Re: moving
We just bought a house 2 weeks ago and are currently painting it/fixing it up before the wedding. We have pushed back out HM, so we both have a little more than a week off after the wedding. We will be spending that time moving in to the house....

Re: moving
we're doing june 1st, but they're giving us the keys a week early. the guy who owns the house we're renting remodeled the whole thing before we moved in, let us pick paint & carpet colors/floor tiles. so yeah. we just need to get our cr*p from a to b.

Re: moving
our wedding is july 10.. we just signed a lease for june 1, but we get the keys may 28..and we'll start slowly painting, moving stuff over, prob won't actually start staying in the apartment until the middle or so of june..
i wanted to officially wait until we got married, but i really have a feeling i would just be wayyyyy too stressed, so in the end i decided a few weeks won't make a huge difference
