My mother is going to be moving to Florida at the end of the month and I was hoping you all might have some suggestions/recommendations as to how she can move all her furniture for as little money as possible. I'd suggested renting a U-Haul and driving there, but it's $1300-1400 for that. Are there any reputable moving companies she could hire? Thanks for the help!

Re: Moving to Florida--moving advice?
We are moving in the beg of January to Florida and we are renting a truck and driving all of our stuff down ourselves. U-haul is very expensive. We found that penske was the least expensive to go with. How much stuff does she have to move? A houseload or an apartment worth of stuff? That really makes the diffrence. Visit sites like homestore.com or forrent.com and they have sections on movining materials and supplies, movers, etc. Best wishes to your mom!

Luckily, she had already downsized from the house we grew up in to an apartment. So she has about a large 1 bedroom apartment to move. Thanks for the Penske recommendation!
