I have taught in Detroit for 13 years and have decided to move to be with the love of my life. Starting a new job New York City Public Schools. Bought a new house and a marriage.wheeew Sometimes it seems like a fairy tale. and sometimes I feel like bridezilla.Did anyone relocate from some place else and have these same emotions????

Wow!! That is a big adjustment! Best of luck to you on your new home and your upcoming wedding!! My FH and I are buying a house on Long Island as well, but our move is a lot more local: Queens to Suffolk County! Try not to stress! Where did you get a job in the NYC DOE? What borough? Congrats to you and FH!!

WOW!!! Good Luck and Congrats!!! I haven't moved but i know about those Bridezilla moments. It seems nerve racking now but it will all come together.

That's great! At least the commute won't be that bad! I work in Queens also [NYPD Sergeant] and we are moving to the South Shore of Suffolk County!! Best of luck!!

FW and I currently live in New Mexico, but we're originally from Long Island. So our whole family still lives back there. We're leaving here in June/July getting married in August, and moving to Philly for good during all of this.
We can totally relate to the long distance planning issues and trying to find a home, and new job. We also had to find schools for us both, FW is going to law school and I'll be going to grad school starting this fall so its been real hectic!
