MP3 Player Music Help (Not Wedding Related)

I feel like a newbie but I recently caved in and bought myself an MP3 player (Walkman style) from Sony. It can hold over 1,000 songs and I'm really looking forward to receiving it.

I want to be able to download music but not sure where to get the best downloads (I don't really care if I have to pay $1 per song or free - both are good)

Can anyone share where they download music from off the Internet?

TIA!
