We were talking to the travel agent about our honeymoon and they asked us the spelling of the names that will be on our itineraries.......
It was the most AMAZING feeling to use my MARRIED name!!!!! YAY!!!!! I can't wait to see it on paper!!!!! IT was just so exciting for me!!!! FH even smiled.....he's excited about too......
Isn't it funny, the things that just lighten up our eyes!!!! WOW!!!!!
I can't WAIT to get married....only 40 days girls!!!!!

Congrats...but I also heard your name has to match your identification, like your passport and driver's license.

Id be careful w. that.........i got a plane tkt to come to NY and since i didnt 'legally' change my name it was all issues! I got to the airport said my married last name and since it didnt match my liscense it took 45 mins of back and forth w/ the higher ups to let me get on my flight!

my travel agent told me to use my name, because thats what is on my passport and license. i wont be legally changing my name until after the wedding.

I too was going to say that you cannot travel under your new name until you have all the proper identification to back it up and that will take at least a month all said and done, but probably more. figure a week or two for license to come in the mail and then you can go to Social Security and then the DMV but then it takes like 2-4 weeks for the official license (vs. just the paper one) to come in the mail.
I will say that you can be sure that in your travel info it says that you are on your honeymoon and then everyone will call you Mr. and Mrs. at least they did on our honeymoon. We took a cruise and they were always good morning Mr. and Mrs. and good evening, etc...so i still got to hear the new name which was really the fun part.

Well, I just got off the phone with my TA. He apologized. He said that he misunderstood me when I was asking about travelling under my married name Oh well.....it will still be exciting.....but geeze!!!!!

my TA said the same thing. we had to do everything under our names as they appear on our passports and id's. that way there is no confusion whatsoever.
it's nice doing the married named thing--but i would check to make sure it doesn't have to be your maiden name...especially if you are traveling internationally, as your passport is in your maide name

im so glad i mentioned it then, i thought it may be a problem but i wasnt sure if maybe you had a different situation or something, but hey! that shouldnt be too much of a buzz kill. isnt it just the best feeling to think that ppl will soon be calling you Mr. and Mrs.____ all the time?!!!
