Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

Didn't even think of it! Good thing we are able to talk! You learn things you didn't know!

Honestly, didn't think about it but I guess we will check it out when we go Tuesday.

I wanted them to light the fireplace, but for zoning reasons, they can't?

Do you think anyone will even look there? I'm assuming we do our grand entrace from the door by the bar....so who is even going to be over there except the last table?

what do you think?

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

Actually my florist recommended it. I went with the one that the Hamlet recommends. They actually have a decent silk arrangement on it. I may just forget about it.

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

I am replaceing the arrangement when you first walk in on that round table, the fireplace and I am making sure those old, ugly silk things are removed from the coffee tables in the hall. I am going to get floating candles to put there instead.
The new arrangments will coordinate with my centerpieces.

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

I'm doing the round table, not the tables when you first walk in. And I am trying to decide about the fireplace. What florist did you go with??

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

I kind of think it's ridiculous that we even have to think about decorating fireplaces and hallway flowers?

it is just me? My sister got married at Woodbury CC and the only thing she had to decorate were the tables!

Just a thought...could we sneek our alter flowers out of the church and bring them to the reception to put in front of the fireplace?

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

You can bring your alter flowers from the Church. Just tell your limo driver. They can handle that for you. It isn't sneaking either. So don't feel bad.

The place is decorated, I just don't like what it looks like so I am changing it.

I am using Burton's. The prices and service are great. He does a ton of Hamlet weddings so he knew exactly what I was talking about.

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

I think the room is so nice that you don't have to fill it with flowers.

Re: MRS2BE - Hamlet question

My church told me I had to 'donate' my flowers.

I'm going on Tuesday with the family so we'll all stand in the room and really check it out.

I'm using Beckman's florist in E. Npt. She had some really creative ideas so I went with her. She's not the house florist though she's not too familiar with the room.

Re: MRS2BE - church/alter flowers

You are correct - most churches consider the alter flowers a donation to the church. I wouldn't remove them after your ceremony. I think it's in poor taste to do so. JMO.

Re: MRS2BE - church/alter flowers

My Church told us that we can leave the alter flowers if we want, or take them. I think they have their own florist who does the Saturday/Sunday masses. Ask.

Re: MRS2BE - church/alter flowers

I am also getting married at the Hamlet. I am putting flowers on the round table in the hall, fresh flower petals spread over the fireplace, and also fresh flowers in the ladies bathroom. My mother also wants to put two stands with flowers on either side of the front door, but we haven't decided yet. I totally forgot about that coffee table.

Are any of you decorating the tables for the cocktail hour?
