Multiple weddings

I really didn't think about it at the time we booked our RH, but I wish I had. I guess I feel in love with the place so that overshadowed any doubts. When I starting thinking about doing a bathroom basket, I realized that someone from another wedding party might use it :( I'll be sharing the area outside for pictures too, but I was assured that we don't get in eachother's ways. I have a feeling that depends on how overbearing or obnoxious the other bride is....I also started getting nervous because part of their cocktail room becomes our reception room. Walls move and tables get changed and set up all in 30 minutes....I have to just keep the faith that they have been doing this for years and they know what they are doing!

wow you p[icked the Marina del Rey. Such a beautiful location. I was supposed to get married there years ago. Congrats! are you using the Yacht?

Re: Multiple weddings

I am getting married at the Riviera and they only do one wedding at a time.
I wasn't thinking about bumping into brides outside and stuff like that until after i booked and i thought - wow how nice that i don't have to worry about this.

However, someone mentioned that one bride will bump into another in the bathroom - how? every RH has a bridal suite - and if its like a wedding factory where many weddings take place in one day - each suite has its own bathroom for the bride.

Multiple weddings was a deal breaker for FH and I. I just prefer it that way. Lol, maybe I don't want to share the spotlight!

FH said no places that have more than one wedding. So we only looked at places that do one.

Ive been to LOTS of weddings that do more than one and we never saw the other bridal party.

Depending on the size of the place, you could bump into guests in the bathrooms or lobby etc. make sure you find out if this will happen if it concerns you.

Otherwise venues that offer more than one event are prepared for this w the staff so the service shouldn't suffer.

Each event in ANY catering hall has seperate staff for each event. I personally didn't care about having it at a place with more then 1 event going on but my mom insisted on it.

When your going around don't just ask if they have 1 wedding at a time. They could say yes but then have a Mitzvah going on in another room with annoying 13 yr olds and a bridal shower in another room. Technically they were telling you the truth, it is just 1 wedding but ask if there are more parties in other rooms.

Ask if the event times are scattered. Otherwise you'll have multiple weddings ending at the same time and think of the lines for the restrooms and valet.

OH, also ask how many bathrooms there are. In Marina del Rey and CHCC there is 1 bathroom for the entire place. Which means all people attending all events use the same rest room which a) means you really shouldn't do a bathroom basket b) lines? (not a worry in CHCC cuz their bathroom is freakin huge!). Also take into account what it's going to be like if you taking pictures at the hall. Is there going to be another bride there taking pics in the same location? If so you have to plan your time accordingly.

Thanks! I'm really happy with my decision. It's really just the multiple wedding thing that is nagging me a bit.
They got rid of the yacht! sold it last summer :( They said it only fit 90 people anyway so it wouldn't have worked for a wedding my size
