I would really like to have music during CH. I would like to either have caribbean music playing or a mariachi band. My FI doesn't think it would fit well w/ Russo's. Ummmmmmmm, I think he's wrong. I don't even know what he's talking about. All of a sudden he thinks he's David Tutera!
The only thing I'm considered about is whether it is weird to have either one of these during cocktail hour if I'm not having a tropical or mexican theme. I don't have a theme at all and probably won't have one either.

I dont think it would matter. I think as long as you and FH both like it then thats fine.

Two ideas:
1. steel drummers
2. Check out Duke & Fred ... they're 2 guys who sing and play guitars ... not too expensive and my mom said they're AMAZING. They have some songs on myspace: www.myspace.com/dukefred ...

We used Steel Sensation Band The owner, Ian Japsi is sooo awesome! He was a little difficult for me to understand over the phone but they were definitely one of my favorite vendors! EVERYONE loved them and commented on how great they were!

I definitely want steel drums! I'm on you tube and loving it even more and more. It doesn't have to be a whole band. 1 steel drumer is fine.

We actually tried to get one through After Hours but once they told me who they use (Steel Sensation) I just called them directly cause it was cheaper.

Who did you end up going with? I just emailed Steel Sensation asking for a quote. I'm really hoping the price isn't crazy. I know if I were a guest, I would love to hear steel drums during CH. If I get them, I think I may actually want to attend my CH so I can hear them too!!!

I wanted a steel drum band but FH shot that down REAL quick He does NOT like it at all...he said we weren't in the Carribean so why would we have a steel drum band We were quoted like $1,000 for a 4 piece band I think...and that was just for an hour during CH.
FH & I still can't agree on CH music

FH & I still can't agree on CH music
My FI was thinking alone the same line. He says that it doesn' go with our RH, we're not getting married on a beach and it doesn't go with a theme that we don't even have.
I'm gonna drive him nuts about steel drums...they may just accidently show up for cocktail hour.
