Music for a small wedding

Music for a small wedding

I'm having about 75 people at the Milleridge carriage house which is small & cozy, with a low ceiling & I do not want over powering music.
I don't want a dj, but a full band is going to be too much I think.

Any suggestions?

We had 85 people and a band (3 singers, 4 instrument players and MC) and it worked well. Just make sure the music is not totally blasting.

You can try a trio or a quartet. My jazz trio is National Boulevard. They can add drums and a singer.

I'm hoping to have ~100 people and am running into the same problem. I want swing sound but can't handle a swing band. Judging by the size of our room, we are estimating that a 5/6 piece band will suffice. We've been looking and looking, but haven't found anything right just yet...

If your room is really small I would opt for a trio or quartet. I have attended some shows and was amazed at the quality of sound from just a few instruments. We saw Gene Ess at the Blue Note with his quartet and he was fantastic.

Nadine, that gig masters site is great!
you really are the queen of internet research One of the bands that came up on my earch seems perfect, the testimonials say exactly what I was thinking of . I will try & listin to the audio samples at home ( no speakers here, slow connection there )
