music teachers/ enthuasists- I need your help!!!

I'm helping run our school's 5th grade show and one of the children in my group is doing a musical solo and I need to know who the composer was and the country he came from. The song is Carol of the bells.

Thanks for any help!

Well, there a quite a few pieces by that name, so if you have more info, that would help. But Fanny Bartholdy-Mendelssohn wrote a piece by the same name and she lived in Germany.

thanks rachel! All I know is that it's a classical piece. Is the one you mentioned classical or are they all classical? I'm a music dummy!

Well, the one I gave you is from the Romantic period, but I guess that would be considered 'classical' The other ones were like Christmas carols and such, and I didn't think those were what you were talking about since they were technically 'popular'. Hope that helps. Sorry, ask a musician a music question and you'll get a book!
