Must Ask... Is this normal?

Ok, maybe I'm reading into this a little too much but....

This morning, my mom went to Adriene's Bridal in Islip to check out MOB dresses. She actually found a dress she really liked but being that I was unable to go with her today, she asked the lady if she could take a picture of her in the dress (on her phone to send me) and/or if she could write down the name of the designer and style number, so she could show me online. Well the lady said NO PICS allowed and then told her that they don't provide designer info or style numbers. My mom went to look at the tag and realized that all of the MOB dress tags had been cut out.

I understand that they don't want for people to find a dress there and buy it elsewhere but is that normal or allowed? She just wanted to show me the dress before buying it.

i went there a few months ago and found them very rude...but they let me take pics of my moh trying on bridesmaids dresses...i asked the lady and she said i could...so thats weird...

Yeah- They'll let you take pics at the Maids Cottage but thats it!!!

unfortunately a bunch of places do this AND IT STINKS!!! i will however say just be careful with adriennes..my FG's got their dresses through them & they weren't the greatest to work with. Has your mom checked out Estelles??? they actually have a huge selection, as does Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point(which i LOOOOOVE!!!). Not to mention Fantasia's seamstresses are impecable. Thanks everyone! I thought that sounded weird but I wasn't sure. No tags? How do you know that you're actually getting what you are supposed to? I'd rather bring business elsewhere. A lot of the places suggested this morning weren't open on Sundays.... So we're going to hopefully take a look during the week.

that is so wierd. I know they do this with Wedding gowns but every place i went to let me take pics of bridesmaids dresses, so why not of MOB dresses. that is such BS

Unfortunately a lot of places do this and no one can really tell them no. My mom went through this and then would come home and spend hours online trying to find it.

I know it s*cks but if she thinks it is the one then she is going to have to do some research. Try a few other salons she may find the same dress somewhere else.

they probably do that so you wouldnt be able to find it anywhere else.... because they may think you will just try to find it cheaper.. ? or maybe its fake?!

When my mom ordered her dress from there, I took pictures. I kind of knew the MOB dress designers so we found it online afterwards. But we ordered that day so maybe that is why they let us take pics. Also, the owner was running around and not really bothering us.

Yeah..the evil owner runs around all day looking all raggedy in her gym clothes!! She's just awful!!
