M&V Limo - rants/raves?

M&V Limo - rants/raves?

Hi, all. My fiance and I were thinking about hiring M&V because they have wedding pickup/dropoff service, which is what we need for our guests. But I seem to remember reading negative things about them before, so please share your story. If you know of any company that does pickup/dropoff, I would love to get some recommendations as well. Thank you!

I am using M & V limos and be prepared to hear some negative feedback from a lot of people most of them are heard about issues nothing they personally went thru, and with every bad their is always good and they are several brides on this site that had a good experience with them, with that being said I hope you make the decision that you are most comfortable with

Thanks for letting me know! It's just so hard to find any company that has pickup/dropoff services...

ive heard mixed things about them, but i am pretty sure we will be going with them as well. i have run into alot of 'problems' with some limo vendors and have had nothing but good relations so far with M&V.

Thanks! We probably should have started the process sooner, but for some reason we just kinda put this one aside for awhile...

I guess ill be another one of those people who have heard stories about them, however, this time its a good one. Actually my mom used them about three years ago for her wedding and she loved them, they still use them for other occasions and has never had a problem.

Yes I have heard a lot of negative stuff on the boards but we booked them. A family friend works there and we have used them for other events with no problems in the past.

we also booked w/ M&V because of their drop off/pick up service and they were the only ones who had both of the cars we wanted..
Im also worried but have talked to several brides that used them and were happy and so far we dont have any complaints..we dealt w/ Mike and he gave us a great price too. So we are hoping for the best that day!

Good luck!

So, I'll post a negative review since you are specifically looking for the drop off / pick up service.

My brothers wedding about a year and a half ago. All went well with the limos getting us to church and hall. As we waited for the pick up from the reception, we waited and waited and waited. The cars never showed up. The bride / groom and the entire bridal party had no way home! We had to call a cab to get us home!

When we called the office and nothing. Noone got back to us and when brother called days later they actually said, 'You managed to get home, so what is your problem?'

Just so you have the facts.

I've heard lots of negative reviews that made me not wantto chance it. I have had friends who'sdirver got lost. That seems to be the most common complaint. That and the limo was dirty.

I havfe a rule - if most of the reviews I see are negative, I don't use them. Why chance it? But that's just me. I don't want to be testing waters on my wedding day. I also checkedthe BBB and they were the only limo company I looked at that had more than 1 complaint in the last 36 months. They had about 6. That's a lot if you consider the people who ddn't file a complaint with the BBB. Most companies only have 1 or 2, if they have any at all.

I used them and have an extremely positive experience. They were on time for my wedding and both the drop off and pick up from the airport. They were professional, couretous and friendly. I was very happy with my experience. Our limo driver, Llyod, was great.

I've booked them and seen both negative/positive feedback. Every single vendor I booked has had both positive and negative feedback. If I only booked the one's who had only positive feedback, I'd have no vendors booked ;)

You all have heard me tell you my story but I will tell the ladys and gents who have not heard it.
They showed up with a flat tire, got to the photo place car wouldn't start and DH and GM had to push it. Got to reception late because of them.... should I go on? Nevermind the whole bachlorette party....
We are now in the process of going to court with them.
They are great until they get your money then all bets are off.
If you need more FM me

Im not on here to make trouble but you guys should know the hell we went through so it doesn't happen to you. My proofs have the flat in it my video has the car moving really funny because of the flat..
I just don't want anyone else to go through it..

Good luck ladies and gents.

That right there says it all!!! They were great to us leading up to when we made our final payment!! We thought all the negatives we heard were just a fluke, well, we were wrong!! They are the most unprofessional place I have ever dealt with in my life!!

I remember before my wedding coming on here and defending them, and getting really upset at people posting negative things about them. Well, I guess you learn from your mistakes, and boy do I wish I had listened to all the girls on here beforehand, it would have made my wedding day a whole lot better!!

I was 45 minutes late to my own wedding, and not by choice!!! I was practically in tears when I arrived at my church to see that a few people were leaving because they had somewhere to be but wanted to stop in to see me get married. They showed up to pick up my groom and groomsmen in the wrong car. So for all of you banking on them because they have a specific car you want, be careful, that was the main reason we booked them, because they were the only ones who had the car we wanted, well, the day came and we didn't even get that car!! DH called the owner before we they left for the church and the owner laughed at him, said oh well, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO, in a ha ha loser tone of voice!! Basically, we were stuck at that point.
Next, we had a 40 passenger bus for our wedding and our contract stated a fully stocked bar. Well, there was one bottle of champagne for 30 people and that was it. No water, no soda, no ice, nothing!! Its a good thing we didn't pay to get that optional bartender for the bus, because there was nothing to serve!! My DH and the groomsmen had to stop off and buy stuff for the bus and the driver didn't even offer to pick up the tab seeing as we were supposed to have it.
Because they were so late, I ended up getting to my hall late and taking pics as guests were walking in, which was something we wanted to avoid.
Then we had pickup at the end of the night to take us back to the hotel, well, they were late, we were standing there talking to a cab company when they finally showed up. Then the driver had to go two miles to the hotel, DH and I really weren't paying too much attention, how hard could it be and before we knew it we were in Levittown the total opposite direction of our hotel!! When we told the driver he had no clue where to go and we had to direct him to our hotel!!
Finally, the next day I called them to complain and get some money back. They laughed at me and hung up. I sent a letter and finally got a letter and their idea of refund was a $100 gift certificate to their company. Like I might ever use them again. I have yet to pursue it because I have been busy, but it is not over. Like Kimmie, I do plan to go to court with this case as there was a clear breach of contract.
My wedding day was still the most amazing day of my life, but it would have been a lot better if things were not so rushed because of them.
My suggestion to you is check around, there are a ton of limo services on Long Island. Check the BBB. And do a search on here, there are plenty of girls in the past who posted problems with them. Just do a lot of research before booking them, I wish I had.

The only thing they did do right on my wedding day was they remembered the aisle runner which was very important to me!!

Best of Luck!!!

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate all your input. It is hard to find a business that has no negative review at all, but at the same time, if there's too many, you have to wonder...

I was at a wedding last summer and the very same thing happened. Plus one of the limos AC was not working.

Ok now I am completely freaking out about using them...my dad booked them based on past positive experience (I delegated this one to him since I am down in VA and didn't care much....guess I should have cared more)

Re: M&V Limo - rants/raves?

We had a negative experience as well.
We requested a specific car to pick us up from the reception and bring us to the hotel (15 minute ride)
It was a damp day, and the car we requested was an antique model, so they sent a different one....which I would not have had a problem with...had it actually worked.
1. There was a puddle on the floor in the back of the car (they paid 1/2 of my dry cleaning bill because of this)
2. There was no heat in the car AT ALL
3. There was no power in the car, windows, locks, moonroof, etc)
4. The car stalled 4-5 times on the ride to the hotel
5. The driver was taking us to the wrong hotel, even after I had confirmed the address the day before.

I agree that all vendors have negative and positive reviews....I used a highly controversial florist and had a wonderfuol experience...so you can't listen to everything everyone says on these boards....but I would highly caution people regarding this particular vendor
