My 1st fitting yesterday!!

My 1st fitting yesterday!!

So, I had my first fitting at David's Bridal yesterday and I must say... it was the most pleasureable experience ever!! Maria, who did my alterations, was great! We joked and laughed the whole time. She was super helpful and nice and did a great job pinning and pinning my dress. It took 2 hours And not once did I feel like anything was wrong.

I got to meet Malacia, a LIW girl as well and it was SO GREAT to meet her!! She was SO helpful in calming my nerves about their alteration department and I was so happy to have met her!!

BUT... we forgot to take pictures!! It was so busy in there and we we got all caught up in everything else that we forgot! And I had the camera the whole time!! So typical of me and my parents.

But all in all... I had a wonderful experience with them as I have had from the 1st time I was there way back when!

PS - I LOVE LOVE LOVE my dress!!!

that's great...how did you get a fitting so early? they refused to let me have one this far away! (but i wasn't really letting them do the alterations so i didn't mind)

I just called them sometime in June and set up the appointment. I did want to come a bit earlier, but nothing was working out, so they gave me that date, no problem.

See, that's the COOLEST PART!!! SInce the dress is so layered, having a normal bustle looked REALLY stupid, you lost all of the dress. So the bustle is actually underneath and that way you don't lose all the layers of the dress and it falls perfectly over it.

We were wondering too.

I really can't tell you how happy I was with them

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
awesome!
which location of David's did you have this fitting?

I got my dress at David's Westbury and I've heard so many horrible things about their alterations that I've been looking elsewhere to get them done.........but if there's a good person, maybe I could ask for her specifically.

My dress is somewhat similar to yours in that it has an organza overlay (but not the various layers).......and I'm stressing about the bustle. I'm wondering, though, if David's has a 'plan' for each dress as to how to best do the bustle?? If so, it might make sense to do it there. I'm glad you had such a good experience!!!!!

you felt like the woman you went to was going to treat your dress with a lot of TLC??

I went to the one in Westbury. I too heard HORRIBLE things about them there as well, but after talking with MSNORA (Malacia) here in LIW, she works there, I went with my gut and went for it. I've had nothing but a good experience since I bought the dress, so, I figured, what the ___?!

I worked with Maria and she was AWESOME!! She worked on my dress for 2 hours and she was pretty tired. I do feel like they are going to do a good job. It is a difficult dress to hem, but she knew what she was doing and as far as the bustle, she knew what was right the first time. I even made her try one on the outside, just to be sure and it was horrible. So I felt comfortable with her knowing what she was doing.

How it comes back we'll see, but I'm not super crazy picky and if there's something a 'little off' well, I'm not going to have a freak out and turn into a monster. I understand that things go wrong. NO ONE will notice certain things. So... we'll see. I really have a good feeling and that's really all I need for me.

I even noticed one tiny bead missing (my fault since I've had it since last sept.) and I asked her if that could be fixed and it was no problem. She was VERY accomodating. I would point things out and she'd fix it.

So... I can't say that my experience was 'typical' (if you know what I mean)
