Thank you Jen for picking me to be this week's BOTW! I'm very excited to be lucky number 10 & I truly hope I can think of great questions like the ones we have gotten so far that will help us all better get to know each other!
Okay, so here is my first question of the week!!!!
Did your fiancé ask your parents for your hand in marriage? Or was your engagement a complete surprise/shock to everyone?
My fiancé did ask my parents for their permission. I'm pretty sure he would have done it anyway, but I had hinted to him early on in our relationship (well, when I knew it was becoming more serious) that it would mean a lot to me if he asked their permission, when the time rolled around. I didn't want it to be a complete shock to them because that would have just been super awkward haha.
It's funny because I later found out that my fiancé had asked my parent's permission earlier in the day on Memorial day weekend. He came over while I was at work & my parents were like 'Oh hey.... so.... what's up? Kelly is at work....?' and after every thing was settled, my father let my 3 dogs inside to say hello to their 'future brother-in-law'
Just a side note because I think it's adorable--my fiancé had told me he was so nervous driving to my house that he tried to distract himself by singing loudly a long with the radio.

This is exactly what happened to me! Even my aunt and my grandmother knew! I'm still shocked that nobody slipped and told me!!

FH asked both my parents the week before. Also he asked the Sunday after Thanksgiving so everyone in our families knew basically by the end of Thanksgiving dinner. Basically everyone knew in both families.

FH spoke to my mom before asking me. I went out to run an errand for my mother and he happened to come while I was out. So he spoke to her before I came home. It was suppose to be a surprise to me but my mother told me. (FH does not know that she told me and I will never tell him). It was still a surprise because he did not do it that night but she thought he would.
Haha omg, I can't believe she told you! Thank goodness he didn't propose that night, so that it was a surprise atleast!
My friends said she should have never told me. But my mom and I are close so she could not keep the secret. As soon as he went to my room she told me. When I got to the room I was trying so hard not to smile and show how happy I was. He asked me what took me so long. I told him I was doing something for my mom.

Congrats on BOTW! I love the minnie mouse ears, too! Very cute! My FH kinda/sorta asked lol. He is very shy and is very intimidated by my dad. We were ring shopping and when I went to bring my mom back to see the ring that I 'loved' she later spoke to my FH and told him to go see our family jeweler. He had the jeweler design my ring. He showed it to my dad on my birthday when they were in the car alone together. He didn't ask me that night, but a few days later. So I guess that was his way of 'asking' lol

No, FH didn't ask my family. I was kinda bummed about this, but we have been together for so long (6+ years) and living together for 4 years.
Early on in our relationship, I had mentioned that it would be nice for him to ask my Grandfather, but he didn't think about it.
It's a good thing my family loves and adores him!

Congrats on being the BTW!!! I LOVE the minnie ears, adorable! My FH asked me parents right before going to the jewelry store to start looking at rings. He came over while I went to dinner with my BF. He surprised them by coming over and they were very happy, even telling him it was about time! After leaving my parents house he went to the jewelry store which I have worked at part time for four years and told them he was there to buy the 'ultimate gift' they all freaked out too and went right into figuring everything out. So it was like he asked my parents and my work family too!!

Congrats !!
My FH took my father golfing and it took him 14 holes to get it out lol !!! Love it. I was so glad he asked and my dad thought it was very respectable.

He wanted to ask my dad but never got the chance. So when my dad picked us up from the airport after we got back from Vegas we asked him to come inside cuz we wanted to speak to him. We went in the house and my dad went to park the car. I know my dad must have been freakin out thinking we were going to tell him we got married in Vegas So when my dad walks in I can see it all over his face and I said 'dont worry we didnt get married!' Instant relief on his face! FH then begins to tell him and he was suprised and gave us his blessing!
My mom I called the next day (b4 we left Vegas) and told her over the phone. I couldnt wait lol. She was suprised and started crying.. so cute! Lol

yes, he actually asked my stepdad 6 months before at my cousins wedding... he asked my father the day of his proposal...
because my dad lives in VA, he didnt want to do it over the phone, so when we met my dad for the holidays he asked him that day and proposed that night.

FH asked my father and didnt tell my mother anything! My father responded by saying he would be honored to have him as a son! I cired even harder after we got engaged and my fahter told me he knew and was honored Justin had asked him for my hand.
