my 4/12/02 wedding
I know I got married months ago, but I never got a chance to post. We just bought a house, I changed job locations and things have just been crazy!! Anyway, I got married on 4/12/02 at St.Margrets Church in Selden & my reception was at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point. We had the BEST day! It rained a little bit when I got to the church, but then it was just cloudy. I had my hair and make-up done by this lady Diane in Ronkonkoma who has a shop in her house. She did a great job & she is VERY affordable ($35 for hair and $35 for make-up). For limos, I used Sir Oliver in Bohemia. They were great!! I booked a horse & carriage through them, plus we had the 32 passenger explorer limo-truck and another stretch limo. They showed up early and helped me out with my dress for my pictures and were very friendly. My mother-in-law surprised me with trumpeters at the church and they were just great!!! I highly recomend trumpeters for your church music--they sound excellent with the organist! I purchased my dress from David's Bridal in Carle Place. My bridesmaid dresses were made by a seamstress, 'Designs on You' in Port Jeff. Even though I had girls in my bridal party from a size 2 to a size 28, she made each one look absolutely beautiful. It's a great way to go if you have all different sizes in your bridal party. My flowers were done by 'Flowers by Diane' in Selden. She does them out of her home & I chose her because she did my sister's wedding 11 years ago and I always thought she had the most beautiful flowers. My flowers were gorgeous!! She also did halos for my flowergirls. I used Frank from Patken for my pictures. My pictures came out OK, nothing fabulous. He wasn't as creative as I would've liked. Patken has so many beautiful pictures in their studio & I thought mine would look more like that, but they didn't. They are very traditional. Majestic Gardens was AMAZING!! We are still getting comments on how great the food was! They are VERY accomadating and the place was just beautiful!! I have to say that our pictures from the gardens came out GORGEOUS! The waterfall makes for a great backdrop. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They truly treat you like a King & Queen. Our DJ was Ralph from 'High Energy'. They were great---everyone was dancing. In fact, the only time the dance floor was empty was when we did our 'special' dances (ie, me & my dad, my husband and his mom, etc...) As favors, we used ice-cream scoops and our guests really got a kick out of them! I think that's everything. I don't get a chance to check this web site often, but If anyone wants any info on my vendors, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks!!!
