My 8/17/01 Wedding!!!!!
Wow!! It's finally over, all that planning, what will I do now. Well let me give you the lowdown. My recetion was at Villa Lombardi's, let me tell you, people are still talking about the food and service. The food was impeccable, especially the cocktail hour. The service was incredible, and the day turned out beautiful, a little hot, but they were predicting rain and thunder showers all day, so that made me very nervous. Limos-We had Class One, they did a great job, very professional and on time. One bad thing is, his parents had a limo too, and there was NO air conditioning in it. His mom was really livid, but they didnt let it ruin their night. Photography-We used Steve from Patken. Totally recommend him. He did my sister's wedding. He did a great job, and we told him we wanted to be at our cocktail hour, and by sure he got us there. You hardly knew he was thyere taking pictures. Videography-We used JR video, I havent received my copy yet, so I cant give any feedback as of yet. Florist-we used James Cress. I almost cried when I saw the flowers. They were so BEAUTIFUL!!! They looked much better than I excpected. Everyone commented on my bouquet. I had an arm bouquet of white calla lillies. Hair- I went to Headsessions in East Northport. I highly recommend Maria. I LOVED my hair, and I'm VERY picky when it comes to my hair. Make-up- Thanks JennRennee for the recommendation on this one. I had Pam from Clinique come to my house, she did a wonderful job. My make-up was flawless, and so well worth it. My honeymoon-we went to Sandals, St. Lucia-Golf and Spa. We had a FANTASTIC time. If anyone has any more questions please feel free to ask. I would be more than happy. Ladies, just want to say thanks again for all your support, and wish you brides to be laots of luck. And cherish every moment of your wedding, because it goes by fast. I felt I hardly saw my husband(boy that is hard to say now). Lots of Luck!!!

Diane...where did you have the ceremony?
I am getting married at Villa Lombardis on June 30th and I am so happy to hear another satisfied bride! I was just wondering if you had your ceremony there too? If so, what clergy did you use?

No, I didnt have my ceremony there. I got married at St. Anthony's Church of Padua, in East Northport. Having a ceremony at the Villa will be so beautiful.

I used pam from the Clinique counter at the Smithaven Mall in Lake Grove. She will do a free trial for you. She will come to your house the day of the wedding. She charges $75. She did an amazing job. The only thing I had to touch up was my lipstick. The # is (631) 382-3251. This is the # of Clinique at the mall.If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Diane...
Hi, and Congratulations!!! I still have 354 days to go. :( Anyway, we are interested in using James Cress. Would you mind sharing how their service is, and how do they work? I just have no idea on what to say to them besides I need flowers for my wedding? Do you have any suggestions? Also, if you don't mind around how much are they? I've heard great things about them. Thanks so much, and good luck!

Congratulations Diane, it sounds perfect! Could you give a little more info on Sandals St. Lucia? Specifically, how was the food and the beach? Was there enough to do? Thanks! C-

I was actually real calm that whole week, however, that morning I was a nervous wreck. Mainly because the weather predicted thunder showers, and it didnt rain, so that eased me a little. That morning I took a walk by myself, which I thought calmed my nerves a lot. The best advice is to just try to stay calm that day, because you get all nervous and excited that you make yourself crazy, and then something will go wrong. Savor your day, and cherish every minute, because it goes by so quickly. Most of all have a great time, this is your day to shine!!!

I will be more than happy to help. We paid around $1800. I know they were a little pricey, but Mr. Cress was Wonderful, and provided great service. He helped me pick out bouquet, because I wanted something different. I was not into the round bouquet of roses. He gave me all different types of styles, and I had an arm bouquet of white calla lillies, rossini roses, stephanotis, and greenes, and ivy. Let me tell you it was BEAUTIFUL!!! Each stem was wrapped in white satin. All their flowers were great, and everyone that works with you in there is great. I would totally recommend them. If you have more questions, I'll be more than happy to help.

My 8/17/01 Wedding!!!!!-Chrissy
We stayed at the Golf and Spa Resort. It was Great!! We stopped over at the Halcyon, and it was much smaller, and seemed kind of empty. There is a lot of stuff to do. They have excursions that are not included in the package, but so well worth it. Thne they have watersports that you can do that is included in the package. The food is good. The 2 restuarants I recommend are Kimono (which is Japanese)-but they do not have sushi. And the Italian resturant-Armandos. The beach is smaller than I thought, but a nice size. It was very clean. There are always activities to do during the day, they have them posted on a bulletin board, which are a lot of fun, you can earn points and win free stuff. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
