My 9/7 Wedding Review

Hi guys! I wasn't on here too often, but I really love this site and found it so helpful. I always loved reading the reviews, so I figured I'd write one. If anyone has any questions or wants more info, definitely ask! We had such a beautiful wedding day. It really was everything we hoped for. We lucked out with the weather, too, which I was soo happy about because we were able to take pics outside by Land's End and have the cocktail hour outside. I'm not going to grade the vendors, just give a little review!

Land's End- They were fabulous! I don't have any complaints about them. The food was great, everything was beautiful. Our guests were raving about how good the food was, how great the service was, how beautiful it was, etc. Anyone getting married here, you have nothing to worry about!!!

DJ Tommy Tunes- They did a great job. My dance floor was PACKED all night. Joe was the mc, he came up to me early in the night and told me our crowd was crazy, so I'm sure it was a combo of our crowd and them that made everyone dance all night. They played a great mix of music and did such an amazing job. We didn't do any handouts or anything like that, just music. My only complaint is that I wanted them to play an Irish song or two. We had family from Ireland and they would have loved that. I didn't even realize that night, I thought about it afterwards. We had a Sunday night wedding and nobody left early. We had to kick people out. haha.

Flowers Sugar Magnolias- Heidi was one of my favorite vendors to work with. She loves what she does and is great at it. I liked that she only does weddings. The flowers were gorgeous!! My bouquet was light pink roses and the girls were darker pink. The centerpieces were a glass bowl with 2 dozen light and dark pink roses. I've gotten so many compliments on the flowers, and would recommend Heidi to anyone.

Spelman Studios-We used them for the video and pictures. I haven't seen either yet, but they were great that day. I've been to some weddings where the photographers/video people were so bossy and annoying, but they weren't like that at all. They were great. I can't wait to see my proofs! I really liked having a woman too, it sounds silly but she really noticed things I don't think a guy would have.

Makeup Jacqueline Nicole- I've known Jacqueline since we were little girls, so she really put me at ease. She did a fabulous job. I'm the type of person who never wears makeup, and I was sooo happy with how it came out. I got so many compliments on it. I didn't have to touch anything, all I had to do was reapply lipstick once in a blue. She also did my mom and sister and their makeup came out great. I highly recommend Jacqueline, she's so talented!

Hair, Michelle from Christopher Jon- She came to my house and did my hair, my mom, sister and one of my flowergirls. She did a great job. I wore my hair half up/half down and it came out great and stayed all night. She is really sweet and does a great job.

Bridal Suite of Manhattan-Got my dress here. I loved them, they did such a fabulous job. They are so professional and really know what they are doing. After going to a few places I wasn't so impressed with, they were great! If you are thinking of looking in the city for a dress, definitely go here.

Bridal Suite of Centereach- They screwed up every aspect of the bridesmaid dress order. I had a bunch of girls out of town, and the dresses were supposed to be in by June. Well, they didn't come in until the middle of July, and they came in wrong. The bottoms were supposed to be chiffon and of course they weren't, they were satin. So they had to reorder all the skirts. The good thing was that it didn't take that long for them to come in again, and when they came in they were fine. But, we were in such a time crunch because some of them had to be shipped out of town, so that was nerve wracking. Also, my sister wanted a shawl, so they said they would order it free of charge after all the screw ups. Well I had to keep calling them and the people answering the phone never knew what I was talking about, didn't know if it got ordered, etc. I kept getting the runaround and then FINALLY it came in. I will say that in the end they got everything right and the dresses were beautiful, but it was a stressful ride.

Paul's Veils- If you want to get a veil made, go here and ask for John. I paid half of what I would have paid in the bridal salon, and my veil had so much detail and was so beautiful.

NY Style Limousine- They were great, we had the rolls and 2 limos. The drivers were nice, the cars were nice, everything went well. No complaints here. They were great to work with.

Audrey's Bakery- They did our wedding cake, which was great, but I also had them make a firetruck for the rehearsal dinner. It came out soo great! They made it look just like his company's truck, down to the last detail. He loved it, he turned red when they brought it out at the rehearsal dinner!

Honeymoon- We went to the Radisson in Aruba and had a great time. I was a little worred about him, because he hates going anywhere he can't surf, but there was tons for us to do. We rented a jeep for 4 days and did our own thing around the island which was great-went to the natural pool, other side of the island, etc, took a snorkeling trip, went tubing, he went parasailing, ate lots of yummy food. Aruba was a great island, I'd go back there! Get this story-on the snorkeling trip he comes out of the water and his ring is gone. We were soo upset, it fell off while he was snorkeling!!!! So the next day he goes to the place we booked the trip and tells them, look it's a long shot but if someone finds a ring, please call us. Well that night we're in our room, the phone rings, someone found a ring. So he goes down there to see if it's his ring, and it was!! Can you believe it?? Someone found it in the water!! We were soo happy to have it back, we couldn't believe someone actually found it.

Did I forget anything??? I don't think so. Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner so I can't share any pics yet. As soon as I can I will share with you guys, it might be a while though! Thanks for letting me share! I hope I didn't babble too much!

I used Tommy Tune's and used Joe also (don't know if it is the same Joe because I think there are 2). They were great. Thank you for your review of Aruba. I am going there next Thursday for 5 days and I am staying at the Radisson also.

YIKES! about Bridal Suite, Centereach...I was just there last weekend trying on a BM dress for my brother's wedding and my MOH was trying on dresses for mine....I'll think twice now! I don't take kindly to stress

I had problems with BS of Cent. so I can feel your pain. Bottom line everything was good in the end, but I know exactly what you mean by what a ride!

We loved Aruba as well. Where did you go tubing?

Jennbaby really? Wow that's crazy! we were soo shocked somebody found it. The people there really are amazing!

We went tubing on one of the boats that does all the watersports right by all the hotels. It was fun, we kept getting thrown off. haha.
