My bachelorette party was Sat night ... wait till you hear what happend! :( Long story

After the roller coaster that was friday .... here's what happened Sat. night ...

We were scheduled to have dinner at 8:00 at Mangia e Bevi in the city - 53rd and 9th ave. I was looking forward to this for a month!!! We had a reservation for 13 and checked in early after confirming the res. the night b/f.

If any of you have been there, you know how small it is .... especially by the bar area. Well, we were all there waiting and it was crowded! the 'owner' as he claimed he was, was yelling at us to leave the bar, that we couldn't stand there. Everyone was getting annoyed b/c there was no place to stand & wait & we wanted drinks.

At 8:30 I asked how long it was going to be for a table, that we had an 8:00 res. and we had somewhere to be. First he tried to say that he didn't have our res. but the other idiot said that he found it. Finally, 15 min. later, they were setting up our table.

I come over to check it out and he's putting 12 people around a long table that would comfortably seat 8. I said, NO WAY! We wanted the extra table, which he had, that we couldn't eat that way.

SO ... he tells me 'that's it! I've had it w/you and your friends .... we're not serving you .... you better find someplace else to eat' I flipped !!!

After arguing for a few minutes, I said how this was b***S***!! and tossed my drink onto the table. As I reached for the second glass ... he grabbed someone else's drink ... a vodka/cranberry ... off a table ... and threw it right in my face!!

At this ... I'm stunned ... screaming ... and being helped out by my friends who witnessed it all. He says he'll get the cops & I said ... YOU GET THEM HERE, NOW!! My sister is calling them to report and assault & they show up in minutes! THREE CHEERS FOR MIDTOWN NORTH PRECINT!!!!

When the cops showed up, they went to find him & this goon was hiding in the back of the rest. They were marvelous! Calmed me down, took my name & wrote said that they would file a report for me so I could go out w/ my friends.

Meanwhile I was soaked, I had spent $50 0n a makeup trial & my clothes were stained from the drink! I was trying to hold it together ... my girlfriends were the best! Found a new rest. had a fantastic meal & a great night out at Metro 53. They were fabulous there. Treated us so well!

All's well that ends well, I guess, but we need to get back at him!!! We'll file a claim in small claims ... but I think I need more! How can I get the word out about this horrible ape & what happened? I'd like everyone to know about this!!!

PS ... I'd also like to get the fire marshall in there ... it was such a nightmare, anyone out there w/ those connections?

I told my DH this story he was shocked. He said you should sue them for sure.

I can't believe that happened!! Good for you for getting the police involved! You should definitely sue. But I'm glad you got to enjoy the rest of the night and had a good time elsewhere!

The Bureau has requested basic information from this company. The Bureau has not received a response

I went there for mine about a year and half ago and there was 6 of us…we also had 8:00 reservations and we waited for an hour….and them they try to rush you out..Then in Aug we went to Puglia for my friends party…It is not worth all the hastle and the aggavation for overpriced food and really big attitiudes. I still can not believe that they treated you that way....Totally uncalled for.. I would sue his a** for the cost of the entire night......

Im shocked as well. My company has had Christmas parties there and although we were never rushed, it is very crowded in there and the waiters are asking you to move constantly.

Although, I had a different experience when I booked my bachleorette party there. I made the reservation for 8 and when I got there, I was told it would be 2 hours before my table would be ready. I even told the guy that i had reservations and he was very rude to me. So we left and went to Bello's which is a couple blocks down and had a very good meal.

Ive been there twice and both times the staff was rude! I will NEVER go back!

What an outrage!!!!! I pass by this place a lot and it is always crowded. I wonder why people go to a place where they are treated so horribly!!! I checked out your review and I hope a lot of people read it. Have you thought of posting your story on the wedding websites for NYC? Just spread the word! (by the way, I will never set foot in that place and I will tell people about your experience!)
