My BEAUTIFUL Shower
I had my shower last Saturday at Taste 99 at Caryle on The Green. It was BEAUTIFUL and my mom and my BM’s did an outstanding job. I am overwhelmed at the amount of gifts I received. My fiancé and I are truly blessed with tons of family and friends that love us.
The food was great and the service was good. One of my BMs missed ordering her dinner and didn’t realize until they were bringing out the food and they took her order and brought it out real quick. The food portions were generous and delish! I loved the stuffed goat cheese pastry that came with the salad and the individual dessert medley.
A few key things I’d like to point out:
My BM who was in charge of flowers got them from Fresh Direct and they are BEAUTIFUL. They’ve lasted all week and I brought a bouquet to work and received so many compliments on them. I’ve never seen roses that big. I know they ordered the flowers and assembled the vases/my bouquet themselves. I think they were reasonable priced too.
Bride dress centerpiece doll. My mom got this from Party-rific on Sunrise Highway in Seaford. She’s talked about having a brides doll for my shower since I was 5 years old. She ordered it only a week or so in advance and they were very reasonably prices. She also got a shower umbrella and a few other items there.
Tastebook. In the invitations my BMs put a card for people to email them recipes. Then they uploaded the recipes to www.tastebook.com and ordered a customized, printed recipe book. It’s really cute and special since it’s personalized. You can upload your recipe and include a “note”. Example: FMIL gave me her Carrot Cake Recipe and put a note that “It’s my FH’s favorite cake.” On the bottom of each recipe, it cites who submitted it. There’s dividers for different courses like brunch, apps, drinks, soups, veggies, desserts etc and they downloaded some recipes off of Epicurous. They scanned in a few hand-written recipes of my grandma who recently passed away a few weeks ago, which was a nice touch. And I have “credits” where I can go online and get more recipes printed for the book.
Photo Blanket. A family friend asked my FMIL for the jpeg of a photo from our e-shoot and she got our picture on a blanket. She got it off QVC. It came out really good and I was totally surprised.
