My Birth Control Pill was recalled

I've been on Trinessa (a generic of Ortho-Tri-cyclen) for about a year and when I went to renew my Rx this week I found out that it has been recalled.

I'm not too upset since I can get the brand-name version pretty easily -- I just have to pay more ()

Anyone else have this problem??

I'd be more concerned as to why something I was taking for over a year was suddenly recalled.

Does this happen? I really don't have much experience with this type of thing...?

Switch to Sprintec, that is the generic of ortho-cyclen. I have been on that forever and it only costs me 8 bucks

OH MY!
I was on Trinessa until a few months ago. I didn't choose to take the generic, and my doc didn't recommend/prescribe it. The pharmacist just gave it to me, but when I found out it was $10 as opposed to $40, I started taking it. Well, I hated it! I was basically spotting every day of the week, every month! My friend told me that it was because of the generic brand, so I switched back and told my pharmacist not to give me generic anymore. Boy, am I glad that I stopped that! I say good riddens to Trinessa! I'd rather pay $40 a month than spot everyday! I wonder what the reasoning behind the recall is.

I paid $55 a month for a year b/c the only brand that worked for me was not 'generic'.

I pay $30 for 3 months of seasonale

it's my insurance- i used to pay $60 at my last job for the same thing

I nearly dies when the guy told me $30- I was so happy- and I love seasonale

Yeah, I just tried to refill my Rx this morning and the told me the same thing. I'm getting a different generic one though. I alone had the Trinessa for one month so I'm not all that upset out it.

I had an adverse reaction to TriSprintec - I won't take that anymore. Made me a raving ***** from hell with no sex drive.

I take TriPrevafem now and I'm so much nicer.

You generic may have been pulled because they may have found something wrong with that batch.

I just filled mine last Saturday. What should I do??

ETA: I just looked at my refill. Its Tri-Sprintec. I guess my pharmacist knew.

I called last night to refill mine and asked specifically if it was recalled and they said 'No'! I searched on the internet and could only find one article that said it was recalled, which I thought was weird too. Let's see what happens when I go to pick it up today...

ETA: I just got back from Duane Reade and they said that only certain lot #s were recalled, which did not include the stock at my pharmacy. So, I would suggest that you try another pharmacy if yours doesn't have it.
