My birth experience and some pics

Original post by StayandJohn

First off all I can say is having a baby is such a total miracle, I mean you see sono pics and all but when you see your baby for the first time you just, I cant even explain it. Now for my experience. My dr saw me on monday and said I was dialating so she was going to put me in the hospital that evening and start cervidil to speed up the process. I started cervidil at 9:00pm and the contractions started coming at 12 mins apart, I had some pain medication and was able to sleep through the nite. In the morning the dr took the cervidil out and started piticion. After 1/2 hour my contractions were every 6 mins and lasting 70+ seconds. Then they came every 3 mins, my dr checked me and said i was dialted to 3cm.

After she left my water broke and I was like ILLLLLL this feels so gross, then the contractions were every minute one on top of the other and I was BEGGING for an epidural. After 20 mins of my begging and pleading my knight in shining armor, the Anastesialogist (sp??), came. He said after the epi it would take about 10 mins to kick in, i was like yea whatever do it now. I think it kicked in quicker than that cause my contractions werent so bad, after a few more minutes they were gone, DH was like do you feel that your having a really big contraction, I said nope not at all.

I took a nap for like 20 mins and my dr came into check me, I didnt dialate anymore so she said that she wanted to section me because she felt my pelvis was too small which is why baby's head wasnt coming down enough. At that point I was like sureeee not a problem do what you gotta do. The wheeled me into the OR at 3ish, prepped me, I met my dr and the other surgeon, who was such a sweetheart, got a little more numb and they started. They called hubby in and he sat behind me. It felt wierd like pulling and tugging but no pain whatsoever, then I felt the 2 dr's pushing very hard and then a POP and then something wiggly on my legs I was like oh my god I just had a baby~! When I heard him cry for the first time I was hysterical, daddy got up to check out his little boy, and then after he was cleaned and swaddled they brought him to me and I was in love.

John went with the nurse and my dr's continued my surgery, the other dr gave me plastic surgery so I wont scar (thats a +) and they wheeled me to recovery. I got to hold my little man when I went into my room and I didnt want to let him go. He is so perfect, he just makes me melt when he looks into my eyes.
