My bridesmaid dresses are a different color that what I ordered!

My bridesmaid dresses were delivered yesterday from RK Bridal. I ordered a Bill Levkoff in Eggplant after asking to see a swatch months and months ago. The swatch that they sent me was a deep purple color, which is exactly what I wanted. Yesterday when I opened the package the dresses were not even close to the color of the swatch. Still in the purple family but a brighter, berry-colored purple.

I called RK and they told me to come down this week with a dress and the swatch and they will see if there is anything to do. I have a feeling they will send the dress back to the manufacturer and they will say it’s within the acceptable dye variation or whatever. Plus, we ordered through the No Frills program (which I’ve done for countless other weddings that I’ve been in and never had a problem) which is non-refundable. I think I am stuck with these dresses.

I based flowers and invitations, etc. off the color of this swatch. I am not a Bridezilla by any stretch but the two colors are not even close. It’s actually laughable.

Can you post pictures of the color difference? Don't stress just yet. See what happens when you bring it in to RK. So sorry about all this :(

I'm sorry. I know it's a lot when the bridesmaid dresses end up with a problem. I def think you should breathe and see what rk bridal will do. I'm sure they will do everything they can. Last thing they want is a bad review and a problem with the bride. I know it's easier said than done. Trust me. But before you go crazy let them do everything they can to fix this for you. After all the dresses are from their store.

I am worried because we went with the No Frills option (which, again, I've never had a problem with!) and it says it's non-refundable and there's no exchanges. Final Sale!

I know exactly the colors you're talking about. The swatch you have is plum. That's the color I'm ordering. If they sent you the wrong swatch, that's their fault and they should pay for it to be rectified. You have to be tough and give them hell!!!

Deep breaths! I would see what RK bridal can do. The color of your dresses looks similar to the bill Levkoff wine color I've been interested in, completely different from the swatch you have. Maybe your order was switched with someone else's? I agree with Renee, don't back down even if you have to become a bridezilla in this moment!

Was there a label on the swatch that you received from them? Or do you have a record of them stating they would send you an eggplant one?

If you do, and they sent the wrong one then it is definitely on them to fix it and or reimburse you

ugh that is terrible... im also having eggplant dresses but get so scared with the color because theres so many variations of eggplant and some photograph differently... the dress you received is definitely more red like a raspberry color. I would raise hell until they fix the problem

The label on the dresses say it's Eggplant. The swatch was listed as Eggplant, and you can see it in my request form in the photo. They just get the swatch and attach it to the form that you fill out when you request it at the store. It comes in the mail.

this terrifies me. we ordered through rk with no frills but online for the wine bill levkoff. dresses will be shipped next month. hope this works out for you!

My dad says put a stop on the credit card payment(s). Even though they went through months ago, you can still file a complaint and your credit card company will pull the money out of RK's account and put a freeze on it until it's sorted out.

That's a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I am also going to refuse to let them take the dresses back until I know what's going on. My FMIL offered to pay for new dresses on a rush order if it comes down to that. I am hoping it doesn't and RK will just order new ones and we don't have to pay. Fingers crossed!!!

Omg I hope they fix this at no additional cost or time to you and your party. They obviously gave you the wrong the swatch. Good luck

Ok here's an update.

I went to RK Bridal yesterday with ONE dress and the swatch, just as I was told to do when I called the other day. The first girl I explained the situation to was very nice. As soon as I told her what happened and showed her the swatch she said, 'That's plum. That's not eggplant.'

To make a very long story short, after about 15 minutes of going back and forth with the manager lady (who actually said to me, 'So you picked eggplant and now you want plum?' Uh, no!) I was told that they can get 5 dresses in plum that will be here by August 25th.

The kicker is that I have to go back into the city tomorrow with the remaining four dresses. Would have loved for them to have told me that the other day instead of telling me to bring one plus the swatch.

So now I will spend the summer worrying about having bridesmaid dresses!

well on the good side I'm happy they could change it. No extra cost or anything right? I know its cutting close to your wedding day. Hopefully they come in a little earlier . THanks for updating us!

It definitely sucks to have to go back and forth to the city but at least they fixed it. It's gonna cut it close but it really could have been worse. I'm just glad they were able to fix it for you. Everything will be perfect. Try not to let this ruin this exciting time in your life.
