My client just asked if I lived with my DH prior to marriage...

And, I was like 'ummmm, well we did close on our condo a few months before the wedding, but we didn't have any furniture...and, it was only because it was more convenient for me to get into the city from the condo'...

My boss was like, 'you didn't have to answer that question.'

How could I NOT answer her? (besides, I happen to know her personal info since we administer her HR)

I dont like that question because some people are against it, and it is really none of their business...I am a teacher so i guess thats why the question bothers me, i dont want students parents etc to know personal info...

People just have no tact or manners anymore. You should see the kinds of things my students ask me!!! I would NEVER EVER ask that of my teachers when I was in HS!!!

I'm also a teacher and agree. You never know how people will take personal info and turn it against you.

We really need to have a separate 'Appropriate Police' for such occassions... 'Maam, close your mouth and hold that thought, you are being inappropriate, the question you are about to ask is highly inappropriate...'

we should have a sep thread on this... OMG- yesterday one student told me that she spread a rumor last year that i was pregnant because she thought i was eating too much...AND there WAS a rumor last year and every time someone would ask I would be like umm no... AND I did not look pregnant at all..and I only ate lunch at school...

then- another student asks me, How come you dont have children , youre not able to huh!?!

I am shocked by the things parents and students will ask...I would be embarrassed but they arent

OMG!!!!

I have been accused of having an affair with another young teacher... then when I denied it, they started a rumor that he was gay!!!

' Well we didnt live togehter but we bought our condo prior it was easier for us and was a big help in the long run' that would have been my reponse

It depends--I know suven is in HR, and if one of my clients (if I worked in HR that is!) that I share details of my life with asked me, I would just think it was curiousity, especially if it was someone around my age...

I'm a teacher also & last year one of my kids (2nd grade) said, 'Why aren't you married yet? My mom said you should have children already.'

That's AWFUL!

My little ones at school ask me questions out of curiosity, like, 'Are you married?', 'Do you have kids?' But these are first and second graders. My older students will ask me how old I am. I look pretty young compared to all the older women I work with, so I don't mind telling them that I'm 18

As for Suven, I think I would have just answered Yes and left it at that. But it is a question I would be caught off guard with, definitely.
