My company bites.

we usually get summer hours...like a 1/2 day every Friday or every other Friday off. We just got an announcement that we're not allowed to have that this year.
This is stinky!!!!!

I know how you feel, my company had the same thing but they got rid of it 2 years ago. I still miss it.

Did they lay off people, maybe now you have less people there they cannot afford to. Well you will be here with the rest of us all day. Look on the bright side, you have a job

I really do hate the bad economy times!
The funny thing is...they just spent literally millions and millions of dollars renovating our building and now there's no one here since they just laid off about 100 people 2 weeks ago. All the desks are empty and it's silent!
So true Shamma...At least I'll be here with everyone else!

It's just-morale is bad overall...shouldn't they be offering something to the employees to boost morale?

We dont have summer Fridays anymore either. It stinks. As does my company in general. I work in advertising, and everyone has summer Fridays, so they will be paying me to sit in my office on LIW (even more than I am now!)

Can I come and work with you?

I have to share an office with 2 others - one is the president's 23 year old son. I used to like him until he recently decided that he no longer wants to go with the compromise on the radio (keep it low, rotate stations to keep everyone happy, and keep it off at times). His new idea of a compromise is that we get to listen only to his choice of stations, at a boosted volume, and turning the radio off completely 'is NOT going to happen' I've taken to wearing earplugs in the office, and I'm talking to my direct boss tomorrow about moving me to another office.
