So, it turns out that during our wedding, my dad was having a heart attack. He knew it, but didn't want to 'ruin or miss the day' and acted as if he was all fine and dandy.
That's my dad, it's what he does.

Well, I didn't find out about any of this until I got HOME from the HONEYMOON.
I understood their reasoning...but JEEZ! Ya, know?

Anyway, he's doing okay, he had several arteries that were blocked like 100% and they did an angioplasty and put stints in.

I thought that was the end of it. Apparently not.

He's in the hospital today having more work done, and while I'm pretty sure it's a 'standard' angioplasty that they are doing, I am always out of the loop when it comes to my parents' health issues.

My dad is not young, and while I'm sure he'll be fine, I'm quite nervous and worried about him.

I'm used to my mom being sick, she's been 'sick' since I was 5. But my dad... he's our rock. and the fact that there is something wrong with him, scares me and is totally messing with my head.

I'm sorry this is so long, but I can't talk to anyone in my family about this, b/c they just tell me I need to be strong so my mom and dad don't know I'm upset, plus a few of them have point blank told me that it's MY fault b/c the wedding caused the heart attack. I guess I just needed a place to let these feelings out.

Bemy I am glad to hear the procedure went well. Weddings are very stressful times which can trigger problems that were already eventually going to happen anyway. I even know quite a few ppl that this happened to their fathers as well. Do not let anyone blame you. I hope he continues to get better

I hope your dad is all right.....and in no way is your wedding the cause of it...at least now he is getting the proper care he needs...I will say a little prayer

I just wanted to give a brief update...
The procedure is over, and we were told that he's doing fine. They aren't letting him come home like he said he would, but that actually helps calm me down b/c if he were here I'd be worried, so while he's there they can take care of him and keep an eye on him. My brother said the Dr. sounded like it was routine to keep him over night.

I'm so sorry about this! You wedding COULD NOT have caused a heart attack and I'm so sad that someone would say that to you.

I had a big observation at school in October. Right after the observation, I called my mom to tell her how iut went. She told me my dad was in the hospital with heart problems. He went in the night before but they didn't tell me because of my observation! Anyway, I told them they needed to be upfront with me because if they weren't, I would be thinking worse things. My dad was in the hospital a few times after that but is fine now, You're not alone and you will be in my prayers.

Oh Kerri - Im sorry Im thinking of you and your family - esp your father - he had good intentions by trying to not say anything, i prob would do the same thing. He REALLY loves you. Hes going to be ok!hug:
