my dad's surgery was canceled

His blood pressure spiked and they couldn't get it down... so they are sending him home from the hospital.

Poor guy. He just wanted to get this surgery over with already. If he doesn't have the surgery within the next week, he'll be in a sling for our wedding. Now, of course, this doesn't bother me at all - but it bothers him a lot. He doesn't want to be in a sling for the wedding or let this surgery get in the way of the wedding at all.

I just want him to feel better and get this all over with soon!

I will keep my fingers crossed for him that they find him a new date this week and he is OK to have the surgery so he can be sling-less at his daughter's wedding!

Maybe you can get a black one to coordinate with his tux.
Most important thing is that he recovers well from the surgery and rehab.

Thank you - I totally agree!

He's more upset about the sling thing than I am... but he was already bummed enough to have one arm (his right one and he's right-handed) out of commission for so long before the wedding), I think this is making him more upset about it.

I'm thinking he and my mom are probably home by now, so I'm going to try calling.

Oh man!! That stinks! The anticipation of getting it done is so bad! I hope he feels better soon so they can get it over with!!

I talked to him and they are making him go to an internist to determine what made his blood pressure get so high.

I'm hoping it was just an isolated case or nerves or something like that... If all checks out okay with the internist, he can reschedule the surgery for the next couple of weeks.
