My David's Bridal Experience......

Hi Ladies
I went to DAvids Bridal today---day 2 of the DRESS HUNT---and I was excited to go to davids bridal because I think it's rEALLY NICE that they have dresses in EVERY SIZE TO TRY ON... where some stores it's the SAMPLE SIZE and it's HARD TO TELL YA KNOW? so I went in... and the girl I had was VERRY SWEET.. I have to say that about DAvid's Bridal.. they always make sure you have a consultant with you, which is GRRREEEAAT

but I don't know what it was.... EVERY DRESS I TRIED ON.. I JUST FELT BLLLAAAH ABOUT!!!
Like I felt like nothing was 'doing it' or making me look the way I want to look....

Some just looked like they kind of 'hung' others fit snug... but just didn't give me the shape that I want...

Now see.. when I tired on the the maggie sotteros at the otherbridal store.. even though the one i liked was a size 8 and it didn't come CLLOOOOSEEE TO FITTING.. it still made me look better...
Could it be the different designers/fabric/etc.
could I have just been having a BLAH DAY ?? LOL LOL LOL

just putting this out there to see if anyone else had similar experiences....

NO DISRESPECT TO DAVIDS BRIDAL.. their customer service WAS GRREEEEAAAT!! and some girls around me looked GREAT in their BM/MOH/MOB./Bridal Gowns

I wish it weren't true but I have definitely found that the more expensive dresses fit better, there is something in that construction that just nips and tucks in the right places!

i think it depends on you and your body style and prefernces = and probably included the fact that you were blah - i LOVE my dress and its from David's even though i HATED the consultants there - they were nasty to me! but my dress was one of their more expensive dresses

I agree with the fabrics looking different on everybody. I tried on a taffeta dress, the dress itself was gorgeous but the material looked horrible on me, I think you have to find the perfect fabric that looks good on you.

Good Luck with your search....I'm having the same Blah experiences, I think Bridal Reflections and Kleinfelds will be my next stops

I think when you find the right dress everything will fit right, the fabric the fit of the dress, the color. Everything!!!! Good luck, I'm sure you'll find it.

You may want to try Demetrios at Macy's Bridal Salon. There are so many beautiful dresses and the service was really great.

Re: My David's Bridal Experience......

I am doing the exact same thing you did except in reverse. I went to David's bridal on a Monday night and ended up having a very good experience with the consultant, and just hope she is as nice when I go back again. I tried on about 10 dresses, and only found 3 i really liked, but I want to go to Helen's to try on Maggie's. I am plus sized and that's why I went to David's but I felt pretty lucky, I actually found 3 I really liked. I think you just have to keep looking till you get that 'that's the one' feeling. I think it will happen for you too.

Re: My David's Bridal Experience......

I wound up buying my dress at David's. It was actually the last place I looked. I went to Macy's and tried on several Demetrios dresses and HATED all of them. With all due respect though, I was looking for something VERY simple. No beads, no lace, just white satin. It just so happened that I found it at David's and it looked gorgeous on me. Nasty b!tches that work there though. I bought my dress off the rack because of that. Luckily, my dress fit perfectly. Didn't need to be altered for length and it was in brand new condition.
You'll find your dress. Don't stress TOO much over it.
