My day with the bridesmaids! with pics
well I have to say thank you to Maxine-and LIWer for helping with the newsletters- they went over big! I got ideas to make the suagr cookies and they went over big as well! Everyone said how thoughtful I was...so that made me happy cause i truly appreciated them coming!
FIrst we met at my parents house on LI- everyone was on time! yay
then we went to Helen's Private collections! The man that helped us- dont remember his name was good in the beginning . he pulled all the dresses I was interested- turned out they had all 4 so i didnt have to go to the other store- which was the plan cause originally they only had 3 of them... GREAT!
all the girls got to try on each of the dresses...didnt have much service/help here but we didnt really need it
we narrowed the 4 down to 2. jordan 714 and jordan 1101
we loved them both- but they are two completely different dresses. I asked the girls and they liked both- and honestly did- i had my MOH ask privately so I can get their real opinions.
so i decided that 1101 was a bit more my style- more on the ballroom elegant side since we are having black tie optional wedding- it also matched my gown a bit with the satin and the box pleats so i decided that was the dress!I love it, and the picture does it no justice! it was flattering on all the girls!
we ordered it in petal pink
then the band came in a color- i told them to pick i couldnt decide
it was between just getting the solid pink so it didnt stand out as much or the champagne which was almost white- THEY decided with solid pink...
the flowegirl was too cute all day..practicing walking...she chose a dress off the wrack taht looked like 'belles dress' so she HAD to try it on and LOVED it the best...but me, the bride didnt like it... so we had the saleswoman lie to her and tell her they didnt have it in pink OR in her size...boy o boy did she give the lady the look of death...but she got over it. I gave her two i liked and looked cute on and had her pick what one- she of course asked everyone their opinion- (and they all said the one I liked better) and then gabriella said, i have made my decision....Its this one! and chose the one we all liked... sooo i was happy!
we then went to lunch- so hungry with almost 4 hours in the bridal salon...they were patient i must say!
went to port jefferson to eat- went to village way- it was ok....we went to go to toast- the fondue place after for dessert but it was closed so we got ice cream at maggie moos, was never there but liked it a lot!
we went back to parents house relaxed and went on the drive back to westchester for one bridesmaid and CT for me, moh, mother of groom,
It was a fun day! : ) and i do (so far) recommend Helen's . reasonably priced dress with a cap at $65
