I have an Africa Sulcata Desert Turtoise. It eats hay and romaine lettuce mostly.

Take it to a vet and ask them about it.

Did the dog injure the turtle? If not, I would just put it back in the woods/wooded area.

No thank God. I called the Long Island Reptile Museum and they wanted $50.00 to take him off my hands! I also called a couple of pet places and they didn't want him either. There's a nature preserve not far from where I work so I'm going to drop him off there. I think it's a relatively young box turtle. He's so pretty though.

Oh! I had a box turtle when I was younger. We found him in camp. I remember my turtle (Randy) loved strawberries! We kept her in a tank (no water).

If I didn't have the baby, I would definitely consider keeping him but I'm so preoccupied with everything (and now possibly foster parenting on top of it) there's no way I have time to devote to something else. My boss caught me sneaking him out But he was cool about it and offered to take him to his house. He's on like six acres out in Water Mill or someplace like that faaaarrrr east. So he's taking a ride home w/my boss tonight
