Sooo how do you ladies think I should bring my dress to ny? should i ship it before i come.. or take it with me on the plane? If i take it on the plane there is not guarantee it will go in a closet.. and if it goes in an over head compartment what if someone puts their luggage on it??

i aked the airline the other day about this and they said call them ahead of time and they will make sure there is room in a closet for you...

Will you be traveling by yourself or with someone? If you're traveling with someone, have them carry a carry on bag. Then put their SMALL carryon in an overhead and lay your dress over it, slightly folded. THat's in the event they don't let you use the closet.
I'd be nervous about shipping it, but I guess it's done all the time.

I had to get mine from Albuquerque to New York and I shipped it. The store (Brides by Demetrios) shipped it for $50. It was insured. However, the post office people left it on the stoop. Everything was fine, the dress is great but that could have been bad....

You can just call the airline a head of time and the fligth attendants can make room for you in the closet My mom's a flight attendant and she puts many dresses in the closet! They shouldn't have a problem with it! Good Luck
