Re: my dress
If you feel in your gut that it might not be the one, keep looking!
I bought my original dress for $250. The venue changed from an outdoor garden wedding to a modern RH. I tried everything I could to talk myself into keeping it, different skirts, adding beading, etc.
I finally realized that I would have felt self-conscious about the dress for my entire wedding day and decided to take another look to see what's out there.
I'm so glad I did.
I found 'the one' and you can see the difference in my face as soon as I walk out of the dressing room.
You should have that feeling every time you put on your dress.
Good luck!

Re: my dress
Everyone has had second thoughts about their dress at some point....just read the posts. Most of the time it just turns out to be jitters or it needs to be fitted properly. Try to remember why you feel in love with the dress to begin with, make sure it fits properly, and if necessary start looking around again. There have been a few girls on here who have decided that they needed a new dress entirely and they were very happy with the decision to get one. HTH

Re: my dress
I thought I hated my dress ALL week, I was in tears. In my head I kept envisioning Estelle Getty wearing it on The Golden Girls! My wedding is in 2 months and I was trying to devise a plan to get a new dress. I had a fitting yesterday and I love it. Try the dress on again. Maybe when you see yourself in it you will change your mind. If not, can you make changes to it to make yourself love it? One of my closest friends was getting married 2 years ago. I went on a weeks vacation before her wedding. When I got back she said she got nervous about her dress and went a bought a new one. She took me to see it. The new dress was ugly and she agreed! She tried her old dress back on and realized it was THE ONE. Now the second dress sits in her closet and no one but me knows she bought it.

Re: my dress
i honestly don't know. i'm just BLAH about it... there is no WOW factor.
i've been looking at this dress for quite some time now....and i really love it. i like that it's different. the one i have, i feel EVERYONE has a dress like that!!
I feel like SYTTD...try adding a sparkly belt to it. I acutally like the one you have better than the other one

Re: my dress
a lot of girls go through this, i personally did as well, and usually (from me personally and from what ive seen) it has to do with the gown not being fitted to you yet.
now honestly, i like the gown you chose better, its very flattering and feminine, no offense to anyone but i think all that pleating on the other dress kind of cheapeans it a little, jmho

Re: my dress
there is a very thick belt that is already sown into the dress...
take a look... i don't know the more i look at it, the more i hate.
maybe that's what it is....maybe i need to get it fit to my body. i just don't know...i loved it at first, and my cousin and best friend said 'THATS THE ONE'...so i know it obviously looks good on me.. obviously not in the picture, because it was a cell pic....ugh. i could totally save money by just sticking with it...

Re: my dress
I think your original dress is beautiful. Maybe try what PP suggested and adding a sparkly belt to it. Maybe that might change your mind about it.

Re: my dress
Can you go try the dress on again? Maybe then you'll remember why you chose it in the first place.

Re: my dress
I think it's great....it's very pretty and looks more like a wedding dress to me than the other one. It's simplicity makes it beautiful...and when you add some DOJ, it's really going to be able to stand out. I hope you will be surprised when you try it back on!!!!
