Has anyone been told that they're dress would be in in a few months and out of the blue been called bc 'the dress is in'?
I'm only asking because I ordered my dress three weeks ago and was told that it would be in in December. They called me last week to tell me the dress is in.
I just find it very suspicious and am beginning to wonder if they're selling me the sample. The dress I ordered was the exact same size and color as the sample.
What do you girls think? Am I being paranoid?

Go back and look at the dress. If its a sample you will know! There will be pulls and snags in the dress, also it sounds gross but smell it...I know I know gross but still. There will be marks on the inside of the dress if its the sample from people putting it on, also take a look at the hem. there should not be a spot on it.
It is possible that the size you ordered is a popular size and there was one already cut and it shipped out as soon as they put the order in.

I know people who were told their dress would not be in for 3 months but it ended up coming in sooner.
Sometimes they happen to have your size in the style you want in the warehouse, you might have just lucked out.
But I'd go back in to check the sample to be sure

The only thing I noticed was a tiny rip on the seam on the side. I'm going back there and will repost the outcome. Thanks everyone!

That does not sound normal to me at all. Sounds like the tags one would find on a sample dress.
That defin sounds like a sample gown to me.
It depends on the dress maker but most dresses take a while to come in. When you go to see it, it should be completely packaged up, mine was anyway. It had all the tags on it, and was stuffed with tissue and all kinds of packaging material and they took it out of the package in front of me and not before i got there.
What place did you buy your dress at? And who is the designer?

While it's possible that it was a sample, it's possible it was a new one that ended up bring available, too. My original retailer lost my dress (long story) and the second one I went to was able to find the same style. Both dealt with the same wholesale office/warehouse--there happened to be one that was already made that ended up not being sold to a retailer before I got it. The pps gave good advice about checking for the wear and tear that a sample would have.
