My dress is in... BUT it was rippppped!!!!!!!

So I took a chance and order my dress special order from Estelle's dressy dresses. So, they called me a month early, said the dress had arrived. I was weary because they had originally tried to sell me the sample because it fit perfectly. I said no because there were beads falling off, etc. So we go to Estelle's last night and first thing I do is see if the sample it still there. Well, it WAS NOT!!! Long story short - they show me the dress, it does not look brand new, but the manager shows us the log of when it arrived. I try it on, and notice it has a huge rip. They try to tell me that no, it is fine, but after insisting on them fixing it for me, they said they would.

So now their seamstress is supposed to fix it, so who knows!

If you go to Estelle's try to deal with Fatima, she was AWESOME!

I am very upset but trying to remain calm. They tried to blame it on the manufacturer, Mori Lee, but who knows. It was an inexpensive dress, so I guess you do get what you pay for!

I'm sorry for you.. I am sure they will fix it and it will look beautiful. Try not to think about it too much right now, it will all work out.

Thanks! I truly hope so. I definitely have been more calm that I would have thought.

Don't freak out or get all upset but your first mistake was going to Estelle's. I know people who have worked there and quit. They don't care about you or your day. All they care about is the money. If you can- get your $$ back and go somewhere else. I guarantee they gave you the sample dress and didn't even have the sense to at least dry clean it. You are going to be the center of attention and your dress is something that is so important. Good luck to you! I hope it all works out!

Awww i'm so sorry!!! Just calm down and see how they go about fixing it, you have over 6 months so you still have time for them to fix if they can't they can put a rush on a gown from the manufacturer.

Request a NEW dress... no fixing a NEW dress!!!

Your wedding is in February, that should give them more than enough time to order a new dress. Why should you have to accept a ripped dress? If you do decide to let them fix it, they should give you a discount and they should not charge for alterations.

That is ridiculous. If you are paying for a brand new dress, even if you say it was inexpensive, it should be A BRAND NEW DRESS. I would go back and say you changed your mind and either want a brand new dress shipped ASAP or your money back and do not leave until you get a better resolution. Do not let them put this problem on you, it's their responsibility to get you the product you ordered even if it is a hasse to them.

That's terrible! But have no fear I'm sure it will all be okay in the end and you'll look stunning!

Inexpensive or NOT... You bought a NEW dress... not a dress with a rip! Don't say you get what you pay for... They are in the wrong!

Good luck it will all work out.

Make sure they order Mori Lee and not Forever Yours. That was my main problem there. I wanted the Mori Lee with the bolera jacket they ordered Forever Yours with out. It worked out because I like the top of the Forever yours better (nicer bead work) plus I am going to have it altered to be a corset, but still it is the point of it all.

Good luck!

Regardless of price-you should get a dress that is new and not ripped. If it is not fixed properly then I would make them order a new one.
