MY dress, so upsetting

MY dress, so upsetting

So I have to vent a little, my wedding is 15 months away and I placed a deposit on my dress. This way the bridal place could track it. Go figure, two months later I got a call yesterday that the designer is no longer making that gown (being discontinued) as of Friday (yeah tomorrow!).

So if I want the gown, I have to order it by tomorrow...but my wedding is 15 months away! The dress has 3 metal rings on it, which could tarnish or oxidize! The only good thing is that the sample has been in the store for 13 months and it is okay, but who wants to take that risk! I am just upset because now I have to start the whole dress shopping over again. This time I will wait until July (12 months out!) Thanks for listening I really needed to vent. WOOOOSAAAAHHH

***Why did I just realize my date is 17 months, not 15.....Oh BOY you can see my head hurts since I am trying to rush my date

Awww that stinks!!!

ETA: There's no way they could wrap the rings with paper or something to ensure it doesn't get on the dress?

If you absolutely love the dress, then I would go ahead and order it.....you can always use a tarnish cloth to shine up the rings if need be.

As another poster said, if you absolutely love the dress then you should order it. If the store sample still looks good after all the people that try it on then you should have nothing to worry about. You always risk the chance of never finding anything that you really love.
Besides people order their dress 12-15 months in advance all the time. Its the norm.

I thought if it's discontinued they have to make your dress if you put a deposit but not necessarily cut or start to sew the dress until closer to your wedding.

I always say if you Love it, buy it. You may not find something that compares.

If you love this dress that much you should order it!!! They hoops can be wrapped up to preserve it. Don't let your dress that you know is 'the one' get away! If it makes u feel better.. I ordered my dress last may and My wedding is not till Sept. It will have been stored for over a year.
